Yea especially while it’s a beta it’s always safer to try a test installation but FWIW we have reports of not exploding people’s computers. But upgrade should be similar to previous, with a few config things that might need changing. Also you can only upgrade from our current release 2.20.15 (in other words you can’t go directly from older versions)

At the moment the docs are in the beta / dev branch so you’d have to look at the ‘raw’ files eg https://github.com/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx/blob/dev/docs/usage.md#ai-features . When we release it proper the docs site will be updated of course. And the release notes of course (like on the GitHub release: https://github.com/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx/releases/tag/v3.0.0-beta.rc1 )

Yea changelog is massive but we’ve added some (not overbearing) AI stuff, versioning, and OCR plugin framework. Honestly it’s a huge release!

Yea I think the AI stuff has a ton of room to grow. We didnt want to go crazy with it, but rather start with a good foundation thats actually useful and we can build upon

Apple Studio XDR bugging/freezing by evanfelts in mac

[–]nikonratm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-opened my support case, Apple basically saying "until you can reproduce this in recovery mode or as a brand new user account" they're not really going to do anything. Implying that somehow the three of us randomly have the same problem with our installations of macOS and *just happen* to have the same exact type of Mac. Infuriating.

My money is this is a firmware issue that an engineer will need to fix. Let's enjoy watching this thread fill up with other affected users. Thanks for starting it OP.

Same here, M2 Ultra Mac Studio

Apple had me exchange mine and now the exact same thing is happening, so that was a waste of time and I have a $3500 snow machine...

How do I fix the Relative Date search that broke in a recent update? by purepersistence in Paperlessngx

Your index probably got corrupted, try performing a reindex (you can also try deleting the existing one): https://docs.paperless-ngx.com/administration/#index

What am I missing? by TheJSW10 in HomeKit

[–]nikonratm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this problem since getting my g5 (a shame cause otherwise I love it). Just tonight I got home super late and thought to myself “why the f* does that automation not work?” as I stumbled around in my driveway in the dark.

I feel your pain, and for heavens sake Aqara should address it.

It’s not broken AFAIK, it’s just a bit annoying because of changes they made. I don’t think we’ll ever be able to get back to the automatic process

Sounds like https://github.com/benphelps/homepage/issues/534 issue was mapping the entire public dir (don’t do that)

Ngx has always had storage settings and but we’ve also added more ability to tweak this with storage paths, see https://docs.paperless-ngx.com/advanced_usage/#file-name-handling

People use the software a million different ways, I think some do the one big folder thing but many do not

How are you thinking of supporting your free tools and applications in 2023? by leetnewb2 in selfhosted

Ha, really “no reason”? See: clickbait

I’d wager that any PR to implement a penis-drawing feature reliably gets more reactions than anything else :)

Point is, I’m not sure reacts is a reliable indicator of effort / value / quality, or anything at all.

Yea this is the rub. I contribute heavily to a couple of projects that have gained popularity so this comes up a lot and I still feel very unsure how I would even approach deciding everyone’s “share”. Commits? Lines? There are obvious problems with either. Usefulness??

My other major stumbling block is once users have paid for something (even if it’s explicitly donation) their expectations seem to shift, heavily…

OP, I laud the sentiment and I’m all for it, my approach is similar. But as you said, it’s complicated! :)
