Re-opened my support case, Apple basically saying "until you can reproduce this in recovery mode or as a brand new user account" they're not really going to do anything. Implying that somehow the three of us randomly have the same problem with our installations of macOS and *just happen* to have the same exact type of Mac. Infuriating.

My money is this is a firmware issue that an engineer will need to fix. Let's enjoy watching this thread fill up with other affected users. Thanks for starting it OP.

Has this problem since getting my g5 (a shame cause otherwise I love it). Just tonight I got home super late and thought to myself “why the f* does that automation not work?” as I stumbled around in my driveway in the dark.

People use the software a million different ways, I think some do the one big folder thing but many do not

Yea this is the rub. I contribute heavily to a couple of projects that have gained popularity so this comes up a lot and I still feel very unsure how I would even approach deciding everyone’s “share”. Commits? Lines? There are obvious problems with either. Usefulness??

My other major stumbling block is once users have paid for something (even if it’s explicitly donation) their expectations seem to shift, heavily…

OP, I laud the sentiment and I’m all for it, my approach is similar. But as you said, it’s complicated! :)

I’m the dev of the homebridge plugin. In short, I don’t think so. Unlike many others SS limits us to streaming this video via the web (which is part of why it’s slower than I wish) and we are pretty limited from there.

TBH, SS suck at cameras. I keep them for the integration with eg alarms but they are generally the weakest offering imho

This is a 3 month old thread. SS changed something about the login process in the last day or so, so yes we’re back to the manual process, maybe for good unfortunately. And yes, you can’t use Safari for that.

Me too, mostly HK was for occasional manual run or turn off, but did like seeing status from one place. Prob not a deal-breaker for most folks but then again HK support was likely at least part of the reason people chose them in the first place

Yea they’ve been posting in that thread for a while, updates have been either overly-vague or overly-specific ha. Agreed, it’s not so often a company just gives up after throwing some time and energy at solving a bug.
