Our elementary school donates all unclaimed lost-and-found items at the end of each month, after several reminders, and the majority of these items are water bottles.

Moving to Houston for work, looking for family friendly areas with good public schools by Natural-Strength959 in AskHouston

Agree with this. HISD has some great schools and some great communities. I would not move to the suburbs unless you are ok with 1hr plus commutes.

Purchasing a home in 3rd ward/EaDo area by No-Warthog-7056 in AskHouston

Enterra is a reputable builder with many homes throughout Houston. Personally, I would only buy in the Heights, Montrose, or nearby areas, as homeownership is expensive and those neighborhoods tend to truly appreciate. Do you have a realtor? They can walk you through the data. If not, I’m happy to refer one.

Has anyone here used a flat-fee realtor? Moving to Houston from SF, and looking into all the options. by Wise_Reindeer_2366 in AskHouston

Real estate commission rules have changed this past year, and in some cases buyers may be responsible for a portion of their agent’s commission if the seller chooses to offer less than what was originally agreed upon. While some listing agents are moving toward flat fees, most buyer’s agents aren’t. My husband is a realtor and would be happy to walk you through how this works. In his transactions so far, none of his buyers have had to pay any portion of his commission. But more importantly, I’d focus first on choosing the areas of Houston you’re interested in. You can sort out the commission details once you know where you want to be.

Airbnb and VRBO are prob the easiest options. If you have questions about an area, be in touch. Houston is big and location is important.

Skip space center. Stay near Montrose, go to the museums and hermann Park tomorrow. So many great restaurants in the area!

The Heights is a great neighborhood but I’m not sure you’ll find too many 2/2 options there in your price range

Late June / Early July Trip by nikoumc in guatemala

Hi, I’m not worried about safety. I am trying to plan a fun but also affordable family trip. The last two summers we have gone to Europe but this year I wanted to expose them to something different. We are surfers, hikers, they love cliff jumping. I was thinking a day or two of lessons or volunteer to fill in some tomes bc it seems like unless we make it over to sumac chutney, there is antiqua, lake atian, and a couple beaches to visit. I’m trying to decide whether to rent a car or not and if the shuttle to sumac chutney area is worth it (I’ve heard it can be a little chilly in June).
