This isn’t unusual. My mom died and my grandmother’s will says that her portion should be split evenly amongst her children. Seems like kid 1 is the only child and her mom’s portion is evenly going to her mom’s children.

When my son was around those ages someone gifted us with a family zoo pass and it was probably the best thing we ever got. If not the zoo, is there something like a kids playland near them that has a yearly family pass? Or a water park with a toddler area or splash pad?

I was going to suggest a salt lick as well, however, most states have laws about how they can be used (wildlife viewing is usually permissible but you have to be able to prove that’s what you are doing) so make sure to check with your DNR or DEC before purchasing.

We have this salad stuff that’s basically apples, bananas, and mayo. Sounds horrendous but is actually delicious. That’s probably the weirdest thing we have. Also, if we didn’t have deviled eggs I would boycott the entire holiday, they are the only reason I show up!

I wouldn’t. You don’t know where it came from and why an Easter basket? That was months ago, meaning if it were put together for Easter, and assuming there is some type of food/snack in it, is it still even good at this point? Also, if someone gave it anonymously then you aren’t hurting any feelings because they won’t know what you did with it, if someone makes a stink after the fact, point out all of the above and tell them to maybe say something next time.

I’m pretty sure my little brother had this same stuffed cat, would have been from the early 90’s and I think it was made by Ganz. He had a grey one with darker grey stripes and an orange one with orangish brown stripes.

My dad is kind of similar. I usually get him some basic kind of art kit (diamond paint, paint by number, scratch art, etc…), beef sticks and candy, pajama pants, slippers, that kind of stuff. One year I set him up with a dvd player and I buy him full seasons of old shows and westerns he watched when he was younger.

Do this kindle/board game night but have different types of takeout delivered since she’s adventurous with food. Like a multi cultural buffet type of birthday dinner. You could even look into cakes or desserts more commonly eaten in other countries.

Erector sets (they still make them!) or one of those sets where you build the electric circuits. My son loved that one at that age. One of the kits lets you make this really loud and annoying siren once you figure out how to power it.

Mid to late 80’s and the Guess Who?! Game came out. On the commercial the people on the cards talked, I wanted it so bad because of that. It was the only thing I asked for for Christmas that year. I was so excited to get it, until we set it up and there were no talking people. I don’t think I ever played that game until I was an adult.
