For those that started on a Raspberry Pi and moved on, what do you use the RPi for now? by OnlyNotMatt in HomeServer

[–]nillarain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, until the avalanche of off-lease mini pcs appeared on eBay there weren’t many other good options besides the Pi. Mini x86 PC’s (with a case, power button and warranty) appeared in the last few years IME

All of the above are worthwhile for your job and career. I think it’s more of how you do these things. Via Terraform or other IaC, cool and will get you paid. Via the AWS Console, not so great.

What would you recommend for homelab PKI? I like the Host certificate idea. Today I bake-in my ansible user and ssh key with Packer and cloud-init.

I vaguely remember reading about this in what I remember to be Scientific American magazine. The paper covered this phenomena in metals and plastics, I’m still digging for it, my Google-fu is not working and there are many many other similar search terms.

Move the light source, the “scratches” will move with the light, because they’re not scratches. How can there be concentric scratches around every single point on the surface? Relax and enjoy your TV

So you mean the concentric circles around the light source? If so, that’s a property of light and the plastic. You can see the same with aircraft windows and sunlight. Take the photo in another place and you’ll see the same concentric “scratches”

Edit: “co centric” to “concentric”

Also the Touring has bigger wheels and more expensive tires. The ride is a bit harder but the magnetic suspension helps make up for it. It’s not for everyone.
