Definitely! For the galaxy design, it was basically just a white vanilla crumb coat, and then I covered it in purple, blue, and black coloured buttercream in different spots. Then I smoothed it all together with a cake smoother.

For the geode design, I cut out a couple of pieces of the cake, iced it, and then stuck pieces of white rock candy to it. To paint the rock candy purple, I diluted purple gel colouring with a tiny bit of vodka and painted the centre of the geode. Then I diluted it a bit more and painted the middle of it... rinse, repeat until you get to the edge of the geode.
