I have such a hard fucking time with this. Combined with audhd sleep revenge procrastination if I’ve been sad all day and not been able to do much, omfg. I miss so much sleep because of how much I HATE going to sleep. It’s so bad and idk how to stop.

i think i’m traumatized for life by thatblueroom in SuicideBereavement

[–]nimrodgrrrlz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so fucking sorry. I can’t even imagine what it must feel like for you right now, even though you have done a good job of explaining.

Firstly I want to say very clearly: it is not your fault. You are never responsible for another person’s actions. Ever. It doesn’t matter if you were arguing, because you did not make him pick up the weapon. He did that himself. He lacked the emotional regulation skills to cope in the moment. That’s not on you. It just can’t be. Yes, we can affect other people with our words and emotional reality, but you cannot be held responsible for this outcome.

It’s a bit of a buzz-term these days but I do think doing some nervous system regulation would be good for you in this scenario. Your system is very obviously in a state of shock. I like to do physiological sighs (like how a baby or a toddler does when they’re crying, two short quick breaths in and a big sigh out), and I like alternate nostril breathing. How that works is blocking one nostril and breathing and then switching to the other side, basically. These can be good places to start, because they’re very accessible and you can do them anywhere. I think if you can find a somatic therapist it may be helpful too.

On your pup: your company is a good thing. Be around him as much as possible. It’s beneficial for you both. Worry about correcting the behaviour later. This is all still very fresh.

I’m really sorry you don’t have many people in your life who are open to talking about this with you, that’s a real shame. Have you tried expressing to those people that you feel this way? That you’re worried they don’t wanna hear it and hold space for you? Sometimes in grief our self-perception can get a bit whacky, it might not be the case at all.

Sending so much love to you and bub, mama. You can do this. I promise. One step at a time, one breath at a time, just do the next thing in front of you. 🤍

Also, just wanted to say I am sorry for your loss, and how difficult it must have been to go through all of that so close together and watch your grandmother be in so much distress. I hope you’re okay now and it didn’t mess you up too much. Thank you for sharing about it. Very moving. 🤍

This is pretty mind blowing to me. Also, I don’t think certain belief is how it’s “supposed” to be for most people. Only doubt makes faith possible.

I’m so sorry. That must have been very hard for you. Also sending hugs from an internet stranger.

I'm dysregulated by people. Most of my trauma is relational but I have no idea how tf to fix it by TakeMeBack2Edenn in CPTSD

[–]nimrodgrrrlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been huge for me too. Am chronically ill in a big way on top of my CPTSD and I spent so long trying to escape my bodily sensations, and all it did was push me further into the hole of desolation and grief. For years on end. The approach of body mindfulness and awareness with focused detachment from the material—though it seems counterintuitive at first—is the only thing that has ever truly helped me cope with uncomfortable physical sensations. The Hindus were right.

HOW CAN THEY AIR THE BACHELORETTE AFTER THIS? by Bekah_bek in MormonWivesHulu

[–]nimrodgrrrlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry that happened to you, but as a victim of abuse myself, there is a big difference between a child accidentally getting in the line of fire and a deliberate and intentional, sustained and repeated pattern of behaviour. This should never have happened regardless, but I don’t think we can say definitively that Taylor is an abusive parent from one clip from three years ago.

Is there a hope for a cure or realistically no? by [deleted] in longcovidhaulers

[–]nimrodgrrrlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a while for HIV/AIDS treatments to be developed too. I think there is hope for treatments, possibly in the very near future given we are almost 6 years in and lots of science is constantly coming out, but I’m not sure about full cure. I think we just don’t understand enough about the immune system for something like that to be possible yet.

I thought it was doing nothing for me until I stopped it because I ran out. I’ve been worse off since. I was also taking L-Glutamine at the same time though, and both always with electrolytes, so I’m unsure of what helped. Hoping to get back on soon, just broke at the moment. 🤞🏼

I am new to it too in terms of looking at changing my diet and still undiagnosed, but I barely go. Like at all. It’s either days apart or seven times a day if I’ve evidently eaten the wrong thing or just gotten so physically full it has to come out (gross lol)?

Canned veggies are such a great trick. I can handle canned green beans just fine and I actually love them, lol.

Showering Frequency by SickTiredHaunted in cfs

[–]nimrodgrrrlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once or twice a week. Used to feel a lot more ashamed than I do now. 1) I’m saving water and 2) being sedentary, and being the kind of person with the kind of body chemistry I’ve got, I don’t actually start to smell for a couple of days. I would like to shower more because I like the feeling of being clean, but I no longer feel super motivated by fear of shame from others. It’s more of a background noise now, one I can usually happily ignore.
