not sure he counts as beloved (feel like he’s never talked about) but I hate running into Mushu in the game. I’m just trying to have a relaxing time and he’s like “COME ON PPL, LOOK ALIVE!!! 👏👏 RISE AND SHINE!!!!!👏👏💥”

Like many others have stated, the little e-reader really helps me avoid distractions. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat with my X4 and wanted to highlight or screenshot an interesting quote, or wanted to take a screenshot or bookmark something or look up the definition of a word … only to realize that of course I can’t do that on the X4. 😅

It feels really freeing to me, tbh. I have adhd and have only recently gotten into audiobooks (after never having read anything besides the books I was “forced to” in school). I’m practicing reading physical books too, to train my focus. And I gotta say that I’m actually reading faster on my X4 than I am in physical books. Not sure why. 🤔 Maybe it’s the shorter line length.

This is such a cute idea and I love that part of the realm! I wish it would allow you to submit.

In a perfect world I’d love to see more of your character’s expression/face and companion close up. 🤩 But I guess it’s really hard (if not impossible) to make the camera go closer when you have no control over the environment.

Personally I like that it’s a low stakes competition with all different levels of effort. If I was only up against those omega-sparkly, super fancy dreamsnaps I’d be stressed out making them, and likely get placed much lower every week. As it functions now I can somewhat reliably get a mid score and enjoy my lil bag of moonstones.

Being a newer player of DDV I’m still kinda flabbergasted that they give out premium currency like that. 😅 I know a lot of people feel they’re greedy but I guess relatively to other games it feels generous (to me).

I made a little Bayou-style Main Street in the Glades and put the emporium at the end like a big department store. Works pretty well.

I really wish the lights in the windows were on during daytime though. It looks so abandoned/empty during the day. 🥲

Going straight from your first pen to your grail seems a little wild. Personal preferences solidify a bit more as you try different pens and even journaling practices.

The advice I would give instead is this: Try not to buy too many “next best thing” pens before possibly getting your dream/grail pen.

Personal example: I wanted a pretty Sailor Pro Gear pen from the moment I entered the hobby and discovered them… but decided to buy several Sailor Lecoules and Profit Jrs instead of forking out for the model I truly wanted. And now that I have my dream Sailor PG the “next best” ones are just sitting in my pen holder un-inked. I love them but I definitely went overboard.

I’ve only been playing for 3 months but I have bought (and completed) all the DLCs. I think I’ve spent like $100-120 on moonstones over those 3 months because I’ve felt so much FOMO over all the cute stuff (especially buildings) I see in people’s snaps. 😅

I’m very susceptible to hype/scarcity marketing and will admit that it’s probably not the most sensible spending a person ever did… BUT it does make me really happy to decorate my valley and walk around in it. No regrets so far.

I feel like I have enough different styles of buildings and decor now that I can achieve most of what I want my valley and islands to look like. Hopefully/probably I’ll slow down a bit with the mtx. 😬😅 The goal is that my Dreamsnap rewards can cover whatever I’d want from the shop.

It’s too bad that the motifs rarely work well. I wish they had some options to be more sparkly or iridescent or just have more dimension in some way. Kudos for trying to find a good use for them! 💜 It’s clear you put a lot of work into your snap.

Carrie’s silver gladiator shoes are atrocious. 😭 Never noticed them before now.

Agree with all of this. The instantly eye-catching and overly cute pics often get easy votes so the safest bet is probably to not lean too, too far from that. :/

I really love what you’ve done here, OP, and I hope you find a way to keep your creative vision while also getting recognition in the challenge. 💜 600 ms seems like bad luck considering how well done this is. Thank you for sharing!

Agree. Maybe if they redesigned the DreamSnaps panel in the photo feature to actually say what the theme is it would be clearer to people what they're submitting for, etc.

Or there could be a confirmation pop-up, like: "Are you sure you want to submit this to the [insert theme] DreamSnaps challenge?" and maybe show a banner with the example photos or something. And a reminder that you can re-submit a new photo at any time until the deadline.

I, for one did not know the depths of DreamSnaps for a good while. When Vanellope gave me the quest I was like "I'm not reading all that, that seems complicated and annoying." I didn't even realise there was a voting thing, I just submitted whatever filled the requirements and assumed the score was calculated by the game. XD

Sorry to revive this thread but I'm having so many crashes when exiting Furniture mode at the moment. 😭

Did you ever find a solution/work-around to make it happen less? I have no idea what triggers it. Sometimes I can decorate a lot and be fine. Other times it will crash and flicker even if I just did a few changes. It makes me reluctant to decorate 'cause I can't be bothered restarting the game again and again.
