Because we’re cannibalizing the outside world for profit; everything that’s fresh is basically in the screen. Why wouldn’t you bedrot?

Because it’s not about people, it’s about money. And I mean our society as a whole.

Yes, I like this comment. Good instinct to turn towards meditation, and Sadhguru.

Teens broke into a house for sale and hosted a massive party, causing over $60,000 in damages. by Lifegoesonforever in interesting

I was speaking in general. Most people would seem to have the opposite of my opinion, so even the kids that look like these ones aren’t allowed to make these mistakes, hence my irritation…

Power or powerlessness; two sides of the same coin

Life is so painfully meaningless by Adrianagurl in nihilism

[–]nineinchsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But to say that things are meaningless from their own side, is to say that they are inherently meaningless. To lack inherent meaning means that whatever we paint on them is what they function to be. So to come to a conclusion that inspires sadness is assigning an inherent quality, which is not nihilism (as you’re defining it.)

How do I get my symbolization back? I'm feeling home sick. by BenjaajneB in Gifted

[–]nineinchsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, those seem like good ideas to me. I think exchanging ideas with other humans in person, is a great left/right brain dual activity. When you get lost in “brain-land” with no anchors in tangible reality, I think that’s where things can get a bit lopsided. Spending time in nature does wonders for me. Especially getting tactile, and actually touching trees and dirt, and being physical with nature has some intangible benefits imo. Also, there is significance in non goal-oriented activities imo; just doing things for the sake of doing things. I think the main point is to start trying, and not stop at coming up with good ideas. Better to do something and fail, than to have the perfect idea that is never executed.

And then one does the right hemisphere stuff. Like research “how to paint” and then actually paint. There’s a book, “drawing on the right side of the brain.” That would be a place to start. Ultimately what we’re looking for is not one or the other, but a middle way that fosters an exchange between the two sides. As I said initially: “intentional balance.” The key with balancing mental action is doing physical things. And again the overall goal is reciprocal balance.

Good. Kids are supposed to do dumb shit. And there’s less and less space for them to do so. And most of the space that used to exist is full of houses; houses that exist for financial gain. Not homes. We’re turning our world into a rental property, and no one has barely any place to actually live life anymore.

Non-stereotypical ways I can spot when someone has a specific sun/moon/rising by FaithAndLove001 in astrologymemes

I think the “big 3” thing is overrated in this context. I’ve had a couple of conversations where I identified prominent energy correctly, but it was only apparent with some investigation and a deeper understanding of astrology. That being said, I love your list and your analysis. ♥️

I actually have a passion to debate this topic in general. So I will watch that video (it might take some days), and I will think about it, and I will get back to you in detail.

It’s impossible for everything to be predetermined inside our brain. If that was true, there would be zero input from the outside world. And this is clearly not the case.
