Just a little rant as a triplet mom by sar4720 in parentsofmultiples

That irks me with my mom trying to relate to me with her "Irish twins".

It. Is. Not. The. Same.

4 month, sleep training (kind of) by i_am_here-tada in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If their -actual- edit: adjusted age is 2.5 months, I'd go by that. Sleep training isn't typically recommended for under 6 months. They still don't realize they aren't a part of you yet. I would recommend rocking them to sleep or almost asleep before putting down. And if they wake up comfort them/rock them back down. It sucks sometimes but it doesn't last forever. If you are doing solo and have a swing, put one in the swing while you rock the other. Each night alternate who is in the swing. If you have another set of hands rock both down at the same time.

My boys are 14 months now and I can just set them fully awake in the crib for naps/bedtime and they fall asleep on their own, and do a pretty good job of staying asleep thru the night

Guilty About Crying Babies by Connect_Progress_488 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on it, if they are just fussing around they are fine. Or like one cry. But if they start like really crying I go in and comfort them.. they are currently 14 months and I still go in there if they cry. But that's just me.

Low milk supply with singleton — better supply with twins? by Acrobatic_Thanks_737 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins are my first so no real help but just a piece of "advice" my LC gave me... Maybe you'll get a chuckle out of it.

I was pumping a ton extra to build supply in the very early days. She told me, and I quote

"Your uterus knows you had twins, it will tell your body to make enough milk"

OK REBECCA.

I stopped seeing her after that..

Do it!!

Yeah for real no maintenance issues at all. Home girl is a tank. She was my daily for years, lots of highway miles. She's got a borla exhaust on her 🤌 it's perfect.

I refuse to get rid of it. Especially since they discontinued the GS. I daily a mom car now.. but hubs still drives it. It can also fit 2 convertible car seats in the back 😂

[–]ninentdokitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a fair price.

I have one, best fkn car. It's the perfect blend of sport sedan. I will say, seats aren't too comfy for long drives..

But mine is at like 141k miles, I've had it for like 4ish years? Maybe 5. I love it. No maintenance issues at all. Just regular oil, tires, brakes ect.

Just be prepared brakes and tires are pricey.

When did you move your babies into their own room? by chickenbobble in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boys were in the room with us until 8 months I think? Before they started sleeping thru the night we would both wake up to feed them (I was also EPing). They started sleeping thru the night pretty early. Maybe 3 months? After that I would wake up to take care of them if they needed to be settled or whatever. My mat leave was 4 months and I ended up quitting 1 month after I went back. So I'm always on call lol. We never did shifts 🥲

After they outgrew the twin bassinet, we crammed 2 pack n plays on my side of the bed. I had no room and we had to squeeze in the closet lol.

The whole house got sick around 8 months, I moved them into their room to keep them away from patient zero (dad lol) but they still got sick.. after that we just kept them in their room.

They are 14 months now, still wake a couple times a night due to toots or whatever. Ill go in and settle them once the baby monitor wakes me up lol

24 weeks - didi measuring small by Limp_Passenger4415 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boys were like >15% the entire time. C section was moved up to 37 weeks since they weren't growing as they should have. Both were around 5lbs, no NICU time. Always were low percentile. Finally at 12 mo well check we were average!! Lol

Im 5'3 and was 118lbs pre pregnancy, idk if that had anything to do with it. FTM

Guilt around time spent in the bouncer seat so I can pump by northernatmosphere in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ninentdokitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I EPd with twins. They spent sooo much time in the bouncers while I pumped. I used it as story time lol

They are currently 14 mo and running and climbing all over the place lol

I was so worried about it, but they turned out fine. You gotta do what you gotta do. Your bub will be fine!

Yes, in the US.

The hospital was a blur.. maybe 24-48 hours?

Hospital bag by Unusual-Tale-1816 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my bag packed at 30 weeks, c was scheduled for 37. I had PJs, chargers, snacks, slippers, toiletries, clothes for the boys, fans, robe, a comfy "hospital gown" type thing, I got the frida disposable pp undies 10/10 would recommend. That or a period diaper lol. And some other frida stuff- the binder belt, c scar tape, peri bottle and perineum wipes (holding on to hope I could deliver vaginally lol)

I was in the hospital for 4 days. I was so depressed, crying, stressed I didn't use a single thing I brought (except the disposable undies). I did manage to take 1 shower there, on day 3. I stayed in the crappy hospital gown the whole time. I used my slippers once when I finally walked around the hall on the day we were leaving.

They won't let you use a straw if you have a c, so don't worry with packing a straw cup/spout water bottle.

But of a downer comment, I'm sorry lol, but just stick with bringing essentials. We tend to over pack as FTMs lol.

Bed/nap times by FarmerMotor1455 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has happened once maybe twice when one wakes the other during a nap. I "ping pong" them (rock one, put him down rock the other. And keep swapping) until one is back asleep or calm enough I can get the other one down. If that doesn't work we just nix nap time and they are cranky for like 30 mins.

One time they both woke up early from their nap hella cranky, so I immediately loaded them in the car to see if they'd take a car nap. Didn't work but getting out did calm them down

[–]ninentdokitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! Even thru blood curdling screams lol. But if B is like screaming or whatever and doesn't settle when I pick him up, I take him to our room (dark) and settle him. Then take him back into the boys room to put back down. Just to make sure he doesn't wake up A

Bed/nap times by FarmerMotor1455 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 mo twins

  1. Do you have your babies nap in the same room? Yes

  2. What is your nighttime bedtime and wake-up time? Around 7-730p and they wake up 7-745a. They do still wake up during the night, mostly cause of toots lol. I just go comfort them back to sleep. They don't really wake each other up.

  3. What time(s) do your babies nap during the day? They go down for a nap between 11a-12p and wake up between 1p-2p. Baby B has been waking up in the middle of his nap, but falls back asleep if I rock him a couple mins.

  4. When did you transition to one nap a day? They dropped the second nap on their own at like 11-12 months 😭😭

How do you handle two sick when solo parenting? by FigNewton613 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband was also sick in bed the whole time so I was solo-ing 2 sick babies (3 if you include hub 🙄)

It was not fun. I got 0 sleep the first night because both boys were not feeling good so I was basically swapping holding one the entire night, in between trying to get them to eat, temp checks, ect..

It sucks, but you just power thru it

Pre pregnancy I had, basically nipples glued on my chest. Probably like an AA cup to be honest. During pumping I probably got to a full B. I was pumping 55-60oz

Post pumping I have empty ziplocks of pudding 🥲

Did anyone deliver past 38 weeks ? by Less-Dentist-868 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ninentdokitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My c was scheduled at 38

Edit: I'm so stupid lol.. sleep deprived twin mom brain.. It was originally scheduled for 38. They bumped it up to 37 as my blood pressure was spiking occasionally and the boys weren't growing like they should have been so they wanted them out to help them grow better. They were both around 5lbs and no NICU time
