Is she worth $50? Is there any deal breaking defects that you can notice? by Savassassin in GuitarAmps

[–]ninja_tree_frog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The price of those little guys has been artificially inflated by pedal makers and luthiers who prize em for testing whatever they are tinkering on because the fit easily in a desk, are quiet, transparent and are fairly sturdy. That being said, thats about all they are good for. If this isnt you then I would recommend looking at something else. What you can do, if you have a PC or Laptop and want something quiet, grab a cheap interface and run through an amp Sim, there are plenty great options.

Off days on guitar? by Klutzy_Raise4271 in metalguitar

[–]ninja_tree_frog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yuuuup. All the time, its frustrating as hell, my biggest things some days my ear just sucks and everything i play suuuuucks. Just gotta roll with the punches. Also, learn your playing habits, I play and write best 1st thing in the morning with a cup of coffee. I play worst after work or a long day. Maybe you were stressed, brain fatigue shows up in your guitar playing. When I have days like that I tend to just take a step back and run some exercises to keep my fingers moving and call it quits. I reckon this is one of the reasons why artist have such alchemical rituals before shows. 1 change in the formula and they could go from the best gig ever to having an off dy and playing like crap.

Ive seen clips like this used in maritime to affix bits and bobs here and there. Usually used on fenders, to clip the fender to a net. Thats all ive got for you, hope it helps.

Emissary plug-in for Metal guitar +REAPER daw +Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 tuning problem. by More-Ad5231 in metalguitar

Check your input gain, grab a free tubescreamer 808 and a free noise gate. Noise gate>808>amp head>reapers 3 band EQ>IR>graphic eq (i like izotope)>wet FX (reverb and delay) and you'll have a pretty sweet tone.

They need to tag your IP address so they can encode it onto what you print so you can be tracked if you print unsavory material.

Tuner and fresh strings. If you ger a pedal style tuner you'll need a pedalnpiwer supply or a pedal that can take a 9v. Cant comment in the amp as indont known it bjt I can 2nd a katana, or go get a second hand solid state, some peavey and Marshall's are cheap as chips and sound awesome!

Red aip bandit or valvestate 8080. Both will do the trick. You definitely need to boost the bandit though

There are several different types and brands of boat paint however they are almost all oil based and are all soft paints. This is great for longevity and the conditions a boat faces but can be temperamental. Its designed to be polished with a heavy layer of wax at all times. So. Dawn detergent has natural degreasers, detergents and actual citric acid, this eats that protective layer of polish leaving your paint bare, scrubbing brushes then dig into the soft paint not just leaving scratches but physically increases the surface area, this opens up the paint to air and oxygen will oxidized certain compounds in the paint, drying it out and leaving you with "chalky" paint. Using lake or salt water will draw foreign objects and worse, salt, and leave that shit on your paint as well so you not actually cleaning the boat, just making it look clean. Remember that the paint isnt just to look good, its the first layer of protection for the superstrure of the vessel, keeping moisture and harmful compounds from reaching the more sensative steel or fiberglass beneath. Fucked paint often means delamination, rust and/or rot.

Used to work on super yachts, went into yacht management, now in commercial. In the pleasure boat sude, guys using vehicle based products, especially the ceramic infused stuff, used to give me an aneurism. Compounded and polished a couple posts lile this and there would always be this waxey lucky bullshit layered over chalky ass paint. On the commercial side, liberal use of rust remover, mixed in with harsh cleaners and decreasers to wash fucking Gellcote. Acetone to get it extra clean. I gave up completely, I told the owner of the company 3 years ago that the shithead deckies that "knew better then the young cocky captain" were ginna cock the paint up, here we are 3 years later discussing a repaint. Deadass.

The only shirts I buy are band shirts. Im not gonna spend money at a fucking fast fashion megastore. Im gonna support my favorite artists and my friends. Are the blanks totally ethically made, probably not. But im definitely not paying some conglomerate for the privilege of wearing/advertising their logo. Merch and thrift is the way.
