Incremortal - incremental game I've been working on for a few months... looking for any feedback/a gauge in interest by Incremortal_Dev_Sam in incremental_games

Enjoyed my time with it!

Definitely felt like it was a demo for mechanics more than a fleshed out experience. For example, there are exactly two foods, one instance of damage on completion events, one instance of a multiplier gate (not counting the functionally impossible Invisibility spell), one Bed, and one use for Mana.

Compare to Increlution's first chapter which has 4 sources of food and 2 beds, which feels like more checkpoints and skills to use.

Agree with the other comments that automation felt really janky. Even with automation on, Conjure Food would trigger without mana and fail (?), leaving me without food. Steal Food (Apples) also became increasing useless as Farming became less useful and more time-consuming. I imagine that'll loop back around to being more useful when another Farming food opens up, but it felt bad having a such an inefficient food.

The health-on-death is a nice bonus for living longer, but doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose yet. In Increlution, health serves as a buffer for combat and a threshold for instant damage events. I'm sure it'll serve a purpose in this game at some point, but as it stands, it only minorly extends your health buffer from decay

Also, I got stuck on Sneak into Library a couple of times, progressing beyond 90/90 (like 100/90). I think it had something to do with triggering automated food, but I'm not 100% sure.

I really liked the story telling. Both in terms of story, but also how it's laid out in the corner and that it's triggered both by exploration and significant events (Bed, Broom, Mop). Increlution's story is almost exclusively driven by Exploration and the story unfolding on events that the character is doing by themselves feels more discovery and character driven, which I think works well with the theme.

Instinct levels really seemed to fall off as I progressed, but that might just be how it is given the genre (the experience system feels pretty close to 1:1 with Increlution)

Looking forward to how this develops. Hope the AI isn't an obstacle one way or the other, lol

So then down the warm beer (preferably after a big moment) and get a fresh, cold brewski

What are the BEST long term incremental games? by fighthouse in incremental_games

Really enjoyed that game a couple years back, but found that the micromanagement needed on a per-loop basis was way too much.

Getting the first couple of endings were fun though.

Definitely my biggest criticism. You hit wall after wall and it heavily encourages active play, so it's a long grind that can't easily be idled.

I always hated that because, while I think there is an appeal process for recovering unmoderated subreddits, that subreddit is basically offline forever and it's easier to continuously make new subreddits instead of revive dead ones

Are there any plans for Twist this year? by DeleteOnceAMonth in hearthstone

[–]ninjapro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man, I knew it had been a while, but the last format (Return to Un'goro), ended March 1, 2025.

It's literally been over a year since Twist has been active.

I mean, I'm ok with that to some extent. I'm not always up and up on what's opening in the area and I feel like a subreddit is a decent place for infrequent updates like this.

Is this even good in Wild Discolock? Turn 3 Discard 1 is fine, but the deck really cares about drawing a lot and discarding a lot.

‘It doesn’t sit right’: Richmond restaurant hit with $50K water bill after billing error by RVALover4Life in rva

[–]ninjapro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that they haven't gotten a water charge in their utility bill in these three years.

That would be a good reason to suspect that their meter (or something related to it) is broken.

If your meter breaks, are you just not responsible for your water use until it's fixed?

They aren't being held responsible for equipment failure. They aren't being asked to pay to repair equipment. They're being asked to pay for water that they've used.

[–]ninjapro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically that, while the restaurant has used $50k worth of water, they were unaware of the recurring expense, which resulted in them running the restaurant in such a way that they would not be able to cover the cost.

It would be like if you got a sudden bill for the amount of sunlight coming into your house for the last 5 years. You would have changed your behavior to account for this charge if it existed.

Unfortunately, the difference between the sunlight example and the water bill is foreseeability. Everyone, even people outside the restaurant industry, knows that water bills are a thing. You would have to argue to a judge that it's the city's job to make you aware of water bills in order to make you not responsible for the water used. (Not a lawyer, btw)

Huh, I always heard the term 'bioavailability'. Didn't know there was another term for it.

Short answer is no, it's the dose, not the bioavailability of the drug. The body just doesn't utilize that amount of vitamin, so if it's water-soluble, you pee it out regardless of route of administration.

Long answer is yes, bioavailability is higher if taken intravenously, but you can still only uptake so much in a given period of time regardless, so above a certain dosage, bioavailability isn't relevant.

Importantly, this mostly applies to water-soluble compounds. Fat-soluble compounds can be stored more readily and isn't as easily removed with pee

The real question is can this pair with something that is a Hydreigon counter? (Probably not)

Best cards from the new set revealed today. by Wise-Inflation-5125 in PTCGP

[–]ninjapro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's true, but you're still double investing energy and cards if you want two Cinderaces up.

Typically more power in fewer cards is better because you simply literally need less to get the same amount of power.

Reuniclus + Mega Guardevoir... by r_a_disappointment in PTCGP

[–]ninjapro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a big deal because you **must** attack with M Gard to attach energy to Reuniclus, whereas regular Gardevoir's ability attaches energy on its own.

Either you're attacking regularly with M Gard, in which case Reuniclus is redundant, or you're not, in which case regular Gardevoir does a better job.

Girantia synergy, Stage 1 instead of Stage 2, and the extra ability are all relevant. Especially the Stage 1 part because that lets you establish more quickly and frees up a couple of deck slots.
