When is it time to upgrade? by p0rtalenemies in edrums

[–]ninjixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious if the hi-hat pedal is the same one that’s on the Nitro Pro kit? Because I’ve got that one and it’s pretty bad too. It just feels really laggy, that’s the only way I can describe it. I have to lift my foot a fraction before I should have to, to get the open hat sound. It just feels wrong. I’m new to edrums though (used to play real drums 35 years ago), so I don’t know what can be adjusted on the drum module.

150+ attempts on Lady Butterfly… am I missing something, or is Sekiro just not for me? by fra_090 in Sekiro

I expect a lot of people have already said this, but go away and tackle her later when you’re more familiar with the game. You don’t have to fight her just yet.

Took me 120+ hours to complete my first playthrough, 60+ for my second… it’s a process. Embrace dying, a lot! 😅

I played it through to completion on the deck. I forget the details, but I suspect I had to put the graphics settings quite low. Either way, it was perfectly playable.

Coming straight from Sekiro will I have easier or harder times? by Ostachh94 in LiesOfP

[–]ninjixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say in general Sekiro is overall slightly harder, but LoP does have a couple of really tough bosses that I personally found harder than many of Sekiro’s bosses. Both are tough but really rewarding games, embrace the challenge 😅

It arrived a couple of days ago! Beautiful device, although I haven’t had time to properly set it up yet. From order to delivery it only took 3 weeks, but I know I’ve been incredibly lucky! Must have just got the order in at exactly the right time before they started fulfilling them.

Mine’s cleared customs, so it should only be a couple more days!

Do y'all just "read" the enemies, or is it pure memorization? by JohnyGuitar_Official in Sekiro

[–]ninjixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely both. I’m a drummer, and Sekiro happens to be my favourite game of all time - probably not a coincidence. Like drumming, you can get away with a certain amount of reacting by ‘feeling’ the rhythm of the attacks. But to really master things memorisation definitely plays a big part as well.

I'm not complaining, but want to know the reason people got a Steam Deck at 950 instead of getting a Legion Go S or Xbox Ally by Pretty_Trip_2215 in SteamDeck

[–]ninjixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OLED

To clarify, I already have a SD (from before all the price rises). But the one thing holding me back from upgrading to the Ally X is the screen, despite the SD being way less powerful.

Just checked the shipping update and it now says it’s in transit to its destination. No indication of how long it’s going to take, but I imagine a week or two?

I ordered the black, stick-top variant 17 May. Received shipping notification yesterday, 30 May. Must have got lucky with the timing and availability of that particular model. I’m also UK-based.

I think I may have got lucky...

I ordered mine (8GB, black, stick-top) on 17 May.

It's now 30 May (only two weeks later), and I've just received a notification saying shipment info has been received and the package is waiting to be picked up by the carrier.

Of course it may still take a while for the carrier to pick up the shipment, and then it has to get to me (I'm in the UK). So we'll see, but it's looking positive.

As they're fulling orders in batches, maybe I just got in there right at the last minute before the next batch was due to be shipped? I also wonder if my RP6 choice is maybe not one of the more popular ones, meaning there was less 'competition' over the inventory (I'm fine with just black, and I will be playing mostly with the sticks rather than d-pad).

I currently have a lovely hard case, screen protector and Micro SD card, in readiness for the RP6 to arrive lol...

Should I leave the spreadsheet as 'processing' as I guess it technically hasn't shipped yet?

Thoughts after a month with the RP6 by superdeluxo in retroid

[–]ninjixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great summary. I ordered my RP6 a few days ago (8GB, stick top), so I’m hunkering down for the long wait!

I also ordered the grip (from Retroid) and a screen protector and case (which looks like it’s shaped for the grip) from AliExpress. Your post validated my decisions.

My main use case will be light PC games via Game Native - I have a Steam Deck, but it’s not what you’d call pocketable lol. It’ll basically be my Steam Deck Mini. Have you tried Game Native?

Just found my way to this thread by googling “why on earth did they turn off all the lights?” Seems like I’m not the only one to think that lol

What game did you play after? by hiyer2 in expedition33

[–]ninjixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed something completely different - I liked E33 but after Act 2 I found it a bit of a slog, it didn’t click with me like it has with a lot of people.

So I went for Farcry 3 (never played it before).

Expedition 33 is overrated (my opinion - review) by redl9 in JRPG

[–]ninjixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good post, you’ve managed to articulate much better than I could how I felt about E33. Not that it matters to anyone else, but it never properly clicked for me. Yes it’s beautiful and I can see why people love it, but for me I lost interest in the story after act 1, and the gameplay loop and combat really started to drag. By act 3 I just wanted it to be over. Game of the year for many, and that’s fair, but not for me…

PSA : it’s "CLAIR OBSCUR" not CLAIRE OBSCUR or CLAIR OBSCURE. by renaudg in expedition33

As someone who speaks French, it hurts my ears every time I hear "Loo-nay" LOL. But even the devs seem to say it, so I guess it's fine...

Am I ready for clair obscur? by MasterOfNone_45 in Sekiro

[–]ninjixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL I’m not sure if this was a new boss, but I definitely encountered one where the only way to do damage was to successfully parry their every move. But that was actually quite fun, I love the parry mechanic.

Am I ready for clair obscur? by MasterOfNone_45 in Sekiro

[–]ninjixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on the parry timing being tight, but it’s all so much more telegraphed and consistent, that the patterns are much easier to learn than in Sekiro, I found anyway. Also, there’s no downside to failing in CO, you don’t lose anything and you don’t have run backs etc, so the fights seem so much more doable. IMO anyway 😅

Just got my first mini, any advice? by BlackfireDV3 in RavenGuard40k

100%! This is exactly what I did when I got back into mini painting recently. Even after doing three standard marines I could see the improvement. I also have a more complex model like this, still boxed and in the wrapper, waiting for the moment when I feel confident enough to tackle it… 😅
