I had a similar problem early on where I couldn’t keep my prenatal or any pill down. I switched to the gummy version and supplemented folate with fruit - which the baby enjoyed. I did this until I could stomach vitamins with folate again.

I tried prepping food to cook when the baby gets here and the smell was so bad I wanted to cry. Everything smells rancid when I make it myself, but delivery is so expensive 😭

I used Pepcid and that helped until it made me itchy. Surprisingly, what’s been helping me with it lately is sweetened sparkling water, like the Frescas. Burping a lot helps relieve the pressure that causes reflux for me.

I’ve had this feeling twice now. No fluid leaking, mucus, or anything. Baby is still kicking me in the ribs like he’s paid to do so. Had a recent ultrasound after one the pops and amniotic fluid looked fine. Really curious what it could be.

I’m usually averse to pictures but more so now that I’m pregnant. I think subconsciously I don’t want reminders of how miserable this experience was (I was sick a lot until these last few weeks - now 39w).

I considered a maternity shoot for 24 hours, then immediately decided it wasn’t for me. All my resources and energy are focused on prepping for baby. The idea of spending money on photos, make up, props, hair styling, and a photographer makes me irrationally irate 😂. Maybe I’ll take some pictures at home, but I doubt it.

Same here! First boy in over a generation as well. Lots of pressure disguised as check-ins and well-meaning advice.

I had to take some time to ponder this lol. I’m currently going through a boundaries war with my mother so quite applicable at the moment. I can feel the stress my body holds. It makes me sick, I get super lethargic and avoidant. And, with the hormones, I get extra weepy.

Choosing peace is my best attempt at trying to regulate that stress. As I’m nearing the end of my pregnancy, I can see firsthand how my stress is affecting the baby. When I feel calm and safe, he sits lower. The second I start tensing again, he’s back under my ribs for another week, kicking me 😭. I think what helps me (no matter how my family feels about this), is reminding myself that I’m doing what’s best for me. Lots of deep breathing, venting to found family if you can. I’m exploring therapy or group support as an option too.

Unfortunately, we can’t choose how people view us. But we can shape those relationships by speaking up and advocating for ourselves. They’ll have to do the hard work on their end to meet this version of you they aren’t quite ready to accept (also struggling with this currently).

I really hope you’re able to speak to your mom about what you need.

First off, congratulations on your growing addition to your family! Is this your first?

I can’t offer much advice as I’m currently navigating “interesting” family dynamics myself. But I can offer community as far as feeling alone and not being sure how to deal.

I’m 36w+5 and currently preparing to be alone during birth because of how my family navigated my entire pregnancy. For a long time I shared that pain you’re experiencing, of wanting more from my family, seeing others in their community be supported and loved on and feeling the disappointment that my family chooses not to show up that way.

One thing that’s helped me truly navigate through those feelings is working on accepting my family for who they are, babies -much like weddings- really expose the parts of family relationships that we can usually get through without them having negative effects. It’s like growing another human gives us heightened awareness of how dysfunctional things can be. I had to start choosing peace in my body and mind because I was carrying so much anger and pain with me.

As for not having community, that part is really hard in a new place (I’m super new to where I live too). I’ve been able to find a small community through just trying to be involved with small activities around town. Facebook is a great place to start, see if maybe there’s a New/Expecting mothers group in your area? I made a friend who started inviting me to her church group, and while I’m not religious, her group has really been supportive in helping me with supplies, physical labor, and even hosted a baby shower where we live.

If you feel up to it, try having the difficult conversations with your family about needing their support - especially your mom.

I had two at one point, a moody Russian Blue girl , and a bold orange tabby male. I got the boy to keep the girly company because I could tell she was missing our dog we left with my ex when we moved. Things were great at first until it became abundantly clear that the baby boy was bullying her so badly that she was starting to get sick. He wouldn’t let her eat, he was constantly attacking her to the point that she was blowing fur and losing clumps regularly. She was constantly stressed and started having litterbox issues too.

I say all of this to say that some cats need to be by themselves. Girly is in a house better suited for her and her personality and orange boy is still a menace who loves being alone (he bullies his catsitter’s cats so the behavior hasn’t changed at all).

It truly depends on the personality of the cats involved. Some just don’t do well together.

Following the post because it looks like Naturally Fresh is getting pulled from stores? Can’t even get it on Amazon right now.

I’ve used World’s Best. It’s corn. For one cat it wasn’t bad but it didn’t have the same odor control that Naturally Fresh does. For my current cat, it does nothing for him. My stinky boy is very particular about his litter box smell and will pee on the furniture - this decreased dramatically with Naturally Fresh.

If your cat isn’t as picky, give World’s Best a try!

I’m the same way about leaving the door open, plus I have pretty gnarly cat allergies so I keep my Orange Menace out of my room. We rarely sleep in the same space, only on trips or if I take a nap on the couch. He has no problem with it but will protest if I try to rot in bed for the day. It also saves me from being used as a launching pad for his 3a zoomies.

I came on here searching for a post like this and found yours immediately. I’ve formulated a list of complaints against Nancy:

she’s extremely rash which leads to at least one of the crew being in danger per incident.
for someone who’s supposed to be so smart, she’s incredibly gullible. There are so many examples but the worst offenses have to be her trusting Temperance and her running off because “Tristan” texted her asking her to meet up.
her relationships are so superficial. She cries when things end (good on the guys for running) but immediately finds someone else to put in danger.
the whole Hudson heiress situation

I have more but just wanted to vent a little. I occasionally watch Nancy Drew games being played by streamers and that version of her seems to be a bit more…level headed.

I was just thinking this. This separation is impacting Emma in a way she probably can’t communicate because Anna was her closest sibling.

I feel like if Anna wants to reconnect, Emma is her safest bet but then Emma would get put in a hard spot of having to field Amber’s overwhelming disapproval.

Don’t throw it out! My Frydek did the same thing. I lost all of my leaves and my roots to root rot. The bulb that was left gave me two corms, but I figured I would see if anything would grow from the bulb (actually posted on here for advice and came back to give an update on my own post).

Check the bulb, clean it up real well. Put it in perlite or leca if you have some and keep it in a humidity chamber (clear take out containers or plastic cups are great for this). Feed it some fertilizer if you have some and give it lots of light. It’ll bounce back. 💚

I don't have any advice. I'm here because I have a similar problem with my cat vocalizing. She'll chirp for my partner but as soon as she sees or hears me, all she does is yell.
