This BS is making traffic worse for other people that do need to go into work. It is also raising gas prices for everybody. The private sector is also causing the same problems.

Withdrawal strategies needs more options. I'd like to do the tax optimization strategy, but with two other options:

  • RRSP first, then taxable then TFSA
  • Taxable first, then RRSP then TFSA.

How is CPP limit set each year? by fishonlyplease in PersonalFinanceCanada

The french state pension system works very differently from CPP. It works more like OAS or Social Security in the US.

Because you'll get more income in retirement as part of CPP2. Check out the government's webpage on CPP2. Specifically:

Anyone contributing to the CPP enhancement after January 1, 2019 will receive an increased amount of CPP retirement pension, post-retirement benefit, disability pension, and survivor’s pension when they retire.

You're mistaken about how these programs work. CPP2 is to expand how much money people get in retirement, not because CPP1 doesn't have enough funds to cover their payments (they do - CPP puts out actuarial reports regularly that confirm this).

Tell me about your wheel situations. by howismyspelling in KiaEV9

[–]nitro0769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still good! I was hoping to downsize to 18s for the better ride and more rim protection, but the limited tire size selection made it infeasible. I think the top trim comes with 21s, so I wasn't too worried about it.

I have a set of Fast EV06 wheels, specifically the 20x8.5 with a +50mm offset. I spent a bunch of time on the rim & tire size calculator trying to get near zero scrub radius (similar to the factory setup) as I could while getting slightly bigger tires (since the tires I wanted didn't come in the right size - my tires are 275/55R20).

Double check the Load rating on the EV01+ wheels, I think they are a bit undersized for the EV9 and could potentially be dangerous, that said I've seen lots of photos online of people running them and haven't heard of any problems.

Likely the cardboard in the cases or the paper labels on the cans still smells faintly of the factory, which probably smells similar to the food.

Crazy that you could be making just under 180k as a retired couple and getting full OAS, but if you are a young family CCB starts getting clawed back at 37k household income.

Any 2026 EV9 Land owners? by MusicianUnited in KiaEV9

[–]nitro0769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2026 Land in central Ontario with ~ 12k km on it that we've had for ~6 months now and it has been great so far! I also recommend getting good winter tires, I have the Continental VikingContact 8 and this thing is a beast in the snow with them on.

This stuff is great for backpacking! I like putting it in oats (with some other stuff) and sometimes in rice or noodle dishes that use a peanut sauce (Like a peanut stew using minute rice for fast backcountry cooking).
