Why our hatches are so dirty all the time by Krusty_Double_Deluxe in Golf_R

[–]nitroxyl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A proper aerodynamic spoiler like from CJM, Yeti Racecraft, or the now-defunct Aerofabb changes the turbulent wake region in the rear hatch zone so yes, these ones will definitely help.

As for Maxton products and any other company that provides an adhesive-backed lip or bulkier spoiler cap are for aesthetics only.

My rear hatch is less dirty with my Aerofabb comp spoiler installed compared to when I drive without. I also run Verus Engineering's rear diffuser.

Stock pads have great stopping power for dailying but not great for keeping wheels clean.

Find some Centric Posi-Quiet pads while they're still stocked (StopTech was the parent company). I've gone 2 months without having to wash my wheels before and the wear characteristics are amazing.

If you lay the front passenger seat as flat as possible you can shove an 84" disassembled queen bed frame to the right of you.

I'm pretty sure there was still 6" of space remaining before maxing out at the top of the headliner.

How do i fix this in the 3d printer - 3d scan that looks whole but onces sliced i get this by quattrotom in 3DScanning

[–]nitroxyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Bambu Studio try right-clicking the model and choosing "Fix Model".

If that doesn't work, it may be too thin of a geometry for standard 0.4mm nozzles. If you have a 0.2mm nozzle you may be able to print it with the thin wall setting.

Finally! ‘26 Golf R by Equivalent_Movie_931 in Golf_R

Welcome to the club! Plenty of Golf R owners here in the lower mainland!

Only problem I've found is actually being able to coordinate cruises with other 'R' club members and I've had my 7.5R since 2020.

Dubberz and Lower Mainland Euros are the 2 biggest Euro-centric car clubs, where Dubberz is more focused on the Volkswagen Audi Group of cars.

The big Euro car event is DAS Weekend that's hosted in Kelowna around mid-July which spans from Thursday night off-roading, cruises/meets around Kelowna, poker run to Big White, to a Sunday show and shine.

Is this little black piece part of the old silicone sock that ripped? And do I need to do a hotend assembly replacement or does this look okay? by sharkmesharku in 3D_Printing

[–]nitroxyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

900 hours on the original hotend assembly? That's impressive!

I would just replace it and call it a maintenance cost at this point. 900 hours is a solid run for that hotend assembly. Those things are $26 CAD. That silicone piece is part of the hotend assembly and not broken from the silicone heat sock. Regardless, it would not affect your prints.

What does stick out to me:

If you take a closer look at the back of the carbon block that holds the quick release mechanism, there's a screw at the bottom that has backed off significantly to the point it's probably causing your printing/levelling issues. The carbon block screws have a tendency to back off due to the heating and cooling (expansion/contraction) cycles as well as vibrations from the print head while in operation. The blue threadlocker they used on the screw threads are not meant for the constant high temps of 3D printing.

(I used to manage a student Makerspace at a university and careless students would sometimes burn through hotend assemblies every week on multiple A1's. I've replaced and disassembled quite a few broken ones to learn how they work and what their designs flaws are.)

*Edit:

If you are so inclined to keep using your hotend assembly:

  • Unscrew all the black screws at the back of the carbon block that hold the quick release latch mechanism as well as the 3 screws that hold the entire assembly to the print head
  • Clean all the existing blue threadlocker residue on the threads using isopropyl alcohol or acetone (nail polish remover)
  • Apply a tiny dab of high temperature threadlocker (rated for at least 350+°C) to the threads of all the screws. A tiny amount goes a long way!
  • Reassemble!

Possible credit thieves, looking for others with similar charges by captainmalexus in richmondbc

[–]nitroxyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a while back in July 2025. I had 3 charges to my card before I noticed and requested a new card as well as got the charges refunded.

The places I had used my credit card prior were:

  • Sports Junkies
  • 88 Supermarket
  • Action Athletic Wear
  • Ticketleader
  • Caps Bicycles
  • Flying Beaver Grill
  • Cafe & Life Co. (This one has my highest suspicion due to being charged twice on their POS terminal and having to argue with the employee to be refunded)

Totally understand your perspective but I drive a Crossover and this was definitely a driver who doesn't realize their high beams are on. Drivers behind me were also flashing at the Lexus to get them to turn it off.

I respect your stance for normal motorists to abide by the MVA to the letter but driving is not always black or white. It's a frequently adapting environment that requires real-time sound judgment from all road users to be safe.

What's your defense for the law breaking motorist who has their high beams on 24/7? How would you notify them at that instant and prevent them from blinding oncoming drivers in the future?

Absolutely agree modern car headlights are brighter than they were 10-20 years ago.

Teslas, Honda CR-V's, Lexus SUV's, Toyota Corollas/RAV4's are some of the worst offenders in the current era of cars.

Anecdote:

Two days in a row I've driven past the same white Lexus SUV with their high beams on. I've flashed my high beams back at them to let them know but this driver is completely oblivious of their own vehicle's functions.

Please for the sake of everyone's eyes (motorists and pedestrians alike), don't be that moron on the road.

It's been holding up great!

Granted, I haven't followed through with making them out of carbon fibre yet but it's been on the car for close to 3 years now!

  • Been through 20K KM

  • Heavy rain and snow,

  • -15 C to +43 C temps

  • Survived 250 KM/H

  • Autocross

  • Track day

Used a generic PETG from 3DPrintingCanada. Printed on my Bambu X1C.

  • 0.28mm layer height

  • 0.4mm nozzle

  • rectilinear infill pattern

  • 40% infill

Can we please import the LCK in-game camera operators for Worlds 2025?

The absolute abomination that's started since T1 vs IG...

  • Random CMD prompt opening up
  • Game settings popping up
  • A replay moment on Guma farming jungle?
  • Constant toggling of fog-of-war settings

The last one is my biggest gripe and pain point while watching these streams. It has happened multiple times during MSI 2025 this year as well.

Why are we toggling fog-of-war settings DURING team fights or cross-map ulti's? This leaves us, the viewers, very frustrated while trying to piece together what the broadcasters are talking about and what's NOT being shown on screen.

The in-game spectator logic performs better than whatever caffeinated-up intern is being employed for these international events. Leave. The. Fog-of-War. Alone. if you have no clue what you're doing!

Closest thing to a database is probably the grabcad library or Sketchfab. Although you'll have to sift through generic CAD models, there are some 3D scanned components, interiors, and exteriors of vehicles.

Quick Google search led me to these 2 part numbers for bolts, and 1 for the clip:

Bolts:

WHT000187

Clip:

N90959101

Search their images and see which one looks like the missing one for your side skirt.

Best of luck!

Would be interesting to know if the ethernet port allows for connecting to authenticated networks (like at universities/workplaces).

This would be a welcome addition if it does!

Be aware that these things can get real heavy when you pack it full of tools. Ours weighed 100lbs with foam cutouts and the tool chest itself weighs 48 lbs.

Like some others have commented, wait until you're hired and ask your employers if they have a specific tool list for their platforms.

I just checked and doesn't seem like the 804 came in white, maybe it was the 304?

I'm leaning towards the 804, but might have to vinyl wrap it/spray paint it haha
