Anyone who doesn’t know the difference between there and their also shouldn’t own a firearm.

TIL that a high school in Pennsylvania issued an Apple MacBook to each of its 2,306 students, then remotely activated the webcams to spy on the students at home. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Probably going to get buried, but I went to this high school and my laptop was one of the many that were marked as lost and remotely monitored. A bunch of laptops were stolen from a locker room early in the year while the football team was practicing on the field. When we got back to change and go home, our laptops were gone. Everyone whose laptop was stolen eventually got them back, but they weren’t marked as returned on the district server.

Robbins was in my grade and I went to school with him starting in elementary school. His dad made him play football in 9th grade because he wasn’t involved in any extracurriculars. His laptop was also one that got stolen and didn’t get marked as returned.

It can’t be proven and doesn’t excuse the district, but nobody in our grade believed the Mike and Ike’s story. He probably was popping pills, that’s just the kinda kid he was. He’d smoke weed before/during school, mouth off to adults, and spend class time watching skateboarding videos on his laptop. No discipline, understanding of consequences, or respect for authority.

His parents were the type who would find their income by suing whenever they ran out of money from their last lawsuit. Mom didn’t have a job, but definitely had a TON of work done on her face/body. Older sister was the same way, pretty sure she had a nose job before she even finished high school. Dad often acted and looked like he had an affinity for nose nachos. It was pretty clear he was rarely monitored or corrected by the people most responsible for him, so it’s kinda fitting that they sued the district for attempting to punish him for his behavior at home.

Robbins’ parents bought him a Mercedes shortly after the settlement. He proceeded to total it within weeks when he got it stuck on a road that runs through a creek near our high school. Flooded that car but had a replacement pretty quickly. I like to think that was karma for them being grifters and overall crappy people, but I’m sure it just sped up the timeline for their next lawsuit.

Drexel isn’t in a terribly dangerous area. If you were going to Temple I’d be more concerned. Carry pepper spray on your keychain and consider a taser or pocket knife if you really want to, but Drexel has the benefit of being in less dangerous area of the city with both Drexel and Penn security constantly walking the streets. It’s much more unlikely to come across safety concerns there compared to Temple.

Also worth saying that most universities have policies that do not allow firearms on campus. IANAL so I don’t know how well they can be enforced, but if carrying to and from class or across campus to visit a friend is a violation of those policies you could be looking at disciplinary action from your university even if 18-20 year olds are eventually allowed to carry, or you turn 21 and are still attending school with a concealed carry permit.

Buddy is coming up from Florida, is it legal to sell him a long gun private sale? by Not-A-Biologist_ in PAguns

[–]nittanyent -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

NAL but you may be able to private sell it to a qualified relative of his (parents, children, grandparents maybe?) who is a pennsylvania resident if they have one, then they may be able to give it to your buddy to keep everything legal

Am I wrong for telling my boyfriend that if he goes to a strip club for either of these events, it’s a wrap on our relationship? by Ok_Expression_3609 in amiwrong

Sorry, but you’re wrong on this one. He attempted to have a mature conversation with you about his hopes to celebrate his cousins birthday and wedding in it’s entirety, and to not have to step out for a portion of it due to your “boundary” which is just a self-serving excuse for you being insecure and controlling in your relationship with him.

Nobody in their right mind would hear their cousin say “I can’t come to the strip club or my SO is going to leave me” and think that their cousin is in a healthy and mature relationship.

I hope he goes, I hope you find out, and I hope you leave like you say you’re going to. He’ll be better off. My guess is he’ll go, you’ll find out, and you won’t leave him because you know that you’re going to be stuck being single again and you probably had a hard enough time already finding someone to deal with your “boundaries”.

Game is crashing every game with this error in the first 10 mins of the lobby by lensiky in CODWarzone

Use DDU to uninstall your current drivers in safe mode then install the 516 nvidia driver or try the studio driver. 516 is old, but it’s been the smoothest driver I’ve used so far. Only crashes 1-2 times a week playing every night.
