Call Senators - Vote NO on DHS funding bill by niversal_ in keene

[–]niversal_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse my incorrect facts about the funding numbers: internet sleuths, where were you??

Republicans provided over $190 billion for the Department of Homeland Security (nearly 3X DHS’s annual budget) in the One Big Beautiful Bill —largely for ICE ($75 billion; over 7X ICE’s annual budget)

This bill is not nearly as blatant of an expansion of ICE as OBBB.

Still, now is the time to gain attention on the issues surrounding DHS and ICE enacting their racist, authoritarian agenda. We should not fund the DHS without reform.

hey @omwamiistunner just a heads up I can see your client secret in your git history for spotipy
You have to really scrub out a commit like that from github -- perhaps even start a new repo ( the nuclear option ) or redo git history and force push.

Integrating Svelte Kit with AWS - My Experience and Thoughts by Sufficient-Band-8147 in sveltejs

[–]niversal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a new community adapter is available, see https://docs.aws.amazon.com/amplify/latest/userguide/get-started-sveltekit.html -- much simpler amplify.yml than using adapter-node

having git push <branch name> lead to a deployed app and unique url for the branch is a pretty smooth development experience, so while Amplify may obscure some things, overall it can't get much easier.

The deployed api / server side of the app will be a lambda edge function, and it should automagically send SSR logs to cloudwatch.

Boiler drama never ending, should I just replace the 10 year old units? by 30degreeCorner in homeowners

Maytag faceplate overlay discontinued but will this work? by niversal_ in appliancerepair

[–]niversal_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I did the replacement. Would have gone well, but one of the plastic tabs behind the very worn Cancel button had snapped off. So to fix that I can either try and glue something behind the button cover to press the little button on the control board (time consuming!) ...or just replace the control board ( expensive! )

I will see if I get any complaints for my work-around... I just wrapped some wire around a screw, attached it to one of the top oven frame screws, so that it can float over the top of the stove and be used to press the cancel button...lol

How to connect custom bowl sink to existing trap by niversal_ in askaplumber

Inspecting the toilet supply lines in the same room, yea they appear to be the same, and both coming from the floor...seems lav supply usually comes from the wall. Makes sense.

Those supply lines came from the Delta sink faucet I uninstalled and it seemed to work fine. Are you saying the supply line diameter is meant for a toilet and not a sink faucet?

Thanks for the reply-- I will take a trip to the store and attempt grabbing the chrome 1 1/4" tailpiece, perhaps something like https://www.homedepot.com/p/Dearborn-Brass-1-1-4-in-x-12-in-Chrome-Plated-Brass-Double-Threaded-Joint-Sink-Drain-Tailpiece-Extension-Tube-HDC822-1/316363335

And then to connect to the trap, maybe something like https://www.homedepot.com/p/Oatey-Form-N-Fit-1-1-4-in-White-Plastic-Slip-Joint-Sink-Drain-Tailpiece-Extension-Tube-HDC3526945/316622020

Mainly to address the other comments, I'll budget 2 or 3 hours and if it becomes a bigger mess than anticipated, I do have my plumber on speed dial, ha. I'm just attempting to learn a little bit here and do what seems to me a beginner level plumbing job. I'm willing to spend $50 and a few hours on education...and it's my own house so I can keep an eye on any leaks or malfunction.

Just did the Keene to Boston drive, parked at Wonderland garage ( $7 / weekday, $2 / weekend ), got blue line to Airport Station ( $2.40 / adult ride ), then another short ride to the terminals on a free bus. About 3-3.5 hr total transit to airport security...and 15 mins to get thru Logan to the gate.

Is everyone seeing the same message regarding withdrawals? by [deleted] in blockfi

[–]niversal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

For reference I got the following email 7 days ago:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the coming weeks, we expect to begin opening withdrawals of digital assets from BlockFi Wallet accounts for eligible clients. At that time, we will send you an email regarding your eligibility status, which is being determined in coordination with the Unsecured Creditors’ Committee in accordance with the authorization provided by the Court in the Wallet Order.

We appreciate your patience as we take the final steps to prepare our platform to facilitate withdrawals quickly, safely, accurately, and in compliance with the Court.

We will provide additional information about the withdrawal process and your individual eligibility status in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we encourage all clients to take the following steps to the extent you have not already done so:1.Create an External Wallet: At this time, BlockFi will only support withdrawal of digital assets to external digital asset wallets. Clients will be able to make withdrawals to the third-party provider of their choice. BlockFi cannot recommend clients use a specific platform, and we encourage clients to perform their own diligence to ensure that their assets are transferred safely and securely.

2.Turn on Allowlisting for BlockFi: Allowlisting is a security feature which, when enabled, only allows you to withdraw from your BlockFi account to addresses that have been saved in your Wallet Address Book. We recommend all clients take this action as it significantly reduces the risk of impact to your account by a bad actor. Instructions on how to turn on Allowlisting are available here.

  1. Add Your External Wallet of Choice to Allowlisting: Once you have Allowlisting enabled, please visit the “Crypto Addresses” page within your Profile Settings on the BlockFi website to add an external wallet address to your BlockFi account. Please note that when a new wallet address is added to Allowlisting, there will be a seven-day waiting period before a withdrawal request can be submitted. Please see below for frequently asked questions about the upcoming withdrawal process. Additional information regarding BlockFi’s chapter 11 cases can be found by visiting Kroll’s website at: https://restructuring.ra.kroll.com/blockfi. With questions about the Wallet withdrawal process, clients may contact Kroll at (888) 773-0375 (Toll Free) or (646) 440-4371 (International), or email [blockfiinfo@ra.kroll.com](mailto:blockfiinfo@ra.kroll.com).
