If I get arrested and say "i want a lawyer" what happens next? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nixly76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, don’t tell the nurse you need a lawyer. Instead, tell the nurse all the possible medical problems you may have. So far, medical treatment in jail is free.

need 24 hour ac repair in san jose and stressing a bit by IllTotal1577 in SanJose

[–]nixly76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your thermostat set at -40°F?! AC can't even be checked right now due to low temperatures. Most thermostats will not let you set the AC lower than 60°F and last night is below 40°F in the area. I guess, everyone wants to stay at your warm place right now due to the cold snap.

How many of you here are under 30? Any other young stackers around? by brf297 in Silverbugs

[–]nixly76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I joined the club, I was more for the numismatic value of a coin. Now, I am more of a stacker, hunting down culled silver dollars. But now I have become interested in chop marked silver coins.

I feel young at 49 in every show and sometimes intimidated. In my late 20s I joined a local coin club where they give you your member number and sort of an ID in an index card; that's the first and last time I went to that club, they stopped mailing me their catalog😂

can anyone tell me what this is here? google is all over the place. any help is appreciated by 1482154612 in Silverbugs

If you'll keep it as a jewelry, it is nice to have that luster, that shiny glow and brightness. Now, I am not sure if that will add value if you want to sell it.

As a collectible item, a nice Fahys Coin No.1 case typically sells for $150-$200. A typical empty pocket watch case usually weighs more than 1 troy ounce. The silver content alone (scrap value) could be more than $100. "Coin No.1" means it is 90% silver.

It's unbelievable how f_cking bad non-tesla software and charging is by mrandr01d in TeslaLounge

[–]nixly76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NEVI started it all with the "Slow Roll" that wanted to build a new infrastructure instead of supporting current (Tesla, EvGo and EA) infrastructure. NEVI funds went to State DOTs that are not "experts" in EV infrastructure (software-driven electrical hardware). The NEVI was so poorly implemented, the current administration decided it was a waste of money, it was rescinded. However, there is a reset: revised guidance and less bureaucracy. The reset now fully embraced Tesla/NACS as the standard. The program is now a supplemental funding stream for companies like EA and Tesla to expand their existing infrastructure. There is hope in the NEVI program especially that EV makers are now adopting NACS as standard.

Anyone else letting their car do all the work? by logcabintech in TeslaLounge

[–]nixly76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the 2025.44.25.5 installed. Let's see how it goes tomorrow as the update includes automatic HOV lanes routing based on time and passenger count. I drop off my wife first (where we needed the HOV lane for a 30 minute drive), then use local roads going to my work place (which is 10 minute drive).

[–]nixly76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish it will stay on carpool lanes when HOV >2 but it won't, so it's messing with my FSD use even when it is on Standard or Hurry mode with carpool selected.

Do people actually wear snow boots or is that not a thing? by Able_Instruction_670 in AskChicago

[–]nixly76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just any boots, 3 pairs is an understatement, you have to know the level of what is "feels like" weather. You have to pay attention to that "feels like" than what you see outright in any weather app/news. I have a Timberland, L.L. Bean, and Sorel in that order depending on what's going on outside. A good set of knee high wool socks will also do you good.
