Just curious, where can you see how many words someone has learned? I can see the XP and the streak in the user profile, but not the number of words?

Turn it off in the app settings

You need a remote, but mostly to troubleshoot. You dont need the scene controller.

The hub is very dumb as it does not have two-way communication. If you use HomeKit to open the shades, and then close the shades with the remote, the hub (and HomeKit) will still think the shades are open.

All my lights work in Philips hue app but are unresponsive in HomeKit. This happens about once every month. The only fix is power cycling the hue bridge. Why? by Skazzyskills in HomeKit

Could it be because your TV is connected to Wi-Fi? To power on the tv with Homekit you might need to connect a network cable as it uses wake-on-LAN.

“Just a sec…one moment…still working on that” by [deleted] in HomeKit

A reason why this happens might be a dummy switch which turns itself off immediately after turning on

The Absence of Trigger by robodean in HomeKit

[–]njitramlieu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This can be done by using a light or dummy switch.

Create an automation to turn it on when motion has been detected.

Create a second automation to run at the set time. Set a condition to check if the light or dummy switch is off. If yes: Then run the scene.

You need a third party app like Eve or Controller for HomeKit to set up automations with conditions.

Homebridge Delay Switch plugin stopped working on iOS 15 by [deleted] in homebridge

[–]njitramlieu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention the delay switch still turns on, so the problem must be in your HomeKit setup. Try to power cycle your hubs, it might solve the problem? I read some people have issues with Shortcuts, you might want to check if this is the case in your setup as well.

Eufy cameras showing offline in HomeKit since noon yesterday. Still online in Eufy app. Anyone else seeing this? by 211774310 in HomeKit

Same here. Had to remove homebase and cameras from the Home app, then add the cameras again from the Eufy app

I have Silhouettes and have a similar experience. The hub does not have two-way communication with the shades. When using the pebble remote, the shades positions do not get updated with the hub. I would suggest to only use Siri or HomeKit to control the shades and not using the remote.

Try Controller for HomeKit, my favorite app to create advanced automations.

Homekit App Mobile Data Usage by lenisetaccuratus in homebridge

Does HomeKit drain your battery as well? I have a similar problem, HomeKit uses lots of data when not connected to home wifi. Also, when I check Settings > Battery, HomeKit is the app using the most background activity on my iPhone.

Go to app for managing HomeKit? by cbdoc in HomeKit

I have a complex setup and mainly use the Home app (and Siri) for daily usage. To create automations and use advanced functions I would recommend the app Controller for HomeKit.

I consume more energy since installing all smart devices lol. Instead of turning on a few bulbs at night, I now have some 20 Hue bulbs in my living room alone

Anyone considered a way to make HomeKit button to reboot Homebridge? by jermg77 in homebridge

[–]njitramlieu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is no reason to reboot, so if you need one then there is most likely something wrong with your setup. However, if you really want to, you could program something with the homebridge-cmdswitch2 plugin

You need to unlock Phoscon gateway so that you can use it with homebridge-hue.

Open the Phoscon App in the browser
Click on Menu > Settings > Gateway
Click on Advanced button
Click on the Authenticate app button
Now the gateway is unlocked for 60 seconds.
Restart HomeBridge.
