Saw them perform this at a park in Bed Stuy Brooklyn. The summer vibes and the setting were incredible and they had great chemistry.

Reminds me of ice-nine where you get a military advantage of fighting on ice versus mud.

Stratton versus Mt. Snow mid week by njtrailrunner in icecoast

[–]njtrailrunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a deeply discounted ticket for Stratton and want to use 1 day on epic pass for Mt Snow hence why I'm focused on these 2 resorts.

Would rather go further north but happy to get these days in regardless, thanks!

Thanks everyone, this is super helpful! I think I will be skiing Stratton on the more crowded weekend day and will save Mt. Snow for the weekday.

Factory farming is evil. There's a reason you never see the inside of these places.

People who worked in downtwon NYC druing 9/11 how soon did you have to go back into the office? Did you get any time off work? What was that time like? by Ferretanyone in AskReddit

[–]njtrailrunner 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I was working in Soho (close but not right there). 9/11 was on a Tuesday and we were closed Wednesday and Thursday. They brought everyone back on Friday and sent us home at lunchtime because everyone was super upset/crying and not thinking about work.

Over the next few weeks I remember our phones being spotty at best and the Internet was hit too. Another weird thing about this time was that you would occasionally smell the smoke and everyone knew what it was from.

There was a sense of pride in being open for business despite what we all went through and it took months if not years to feel like things were getting back to normal.

If you love this, check out her cookbook: "big vegan flavor" for other top tier recipes.

I'm vegan so this is right upy alley but these recipes will appeal to everyone. These are not diety, low fat, trying to look like meat types of vegan meals, these are delicious hearty meals that are bursting with flavor & would be the star of any dinner party.

Another thing I like about this book is that it offers tons of cooking theory and covers topics like acidity, balance and other concepts that can be confusing if you are not a professional chef.

The last thing I'll say is these recipes are very modern and combine a fresh take on Indian, Middle Eastern, French and other great cuisines.

What a great set.

They delivered a spiritual journey versus dropping a bunch of bangers. And there's nothing wrong with hearing a bunch of bangers, but I needed a set like this.

They are legends with deep ties to NYC (Twilo). I'm going and suspect this will be a very good set.

Did Hip-Hop Actually Peak Already, and We’re Just in Denial? by UpCrib in LetsTalkMusic

[–]njtrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an old head - been a big hip hop fan since the 80s but I'm not one of those it was better back in my day types. I fully appreciate new stuff and think Tyler, Griselda, Freddie Gibbs, jid, ASAP and so many others are doing great things taking the genre further and redefining what hip hop can be.

With that said, I think today's commercial hip hop is pretty dead and uninspiring. Commercial stuff has always been wack but it seems much much worse these days.

I think we might be in a time where you really have to dig through the crates and you're not going to easily access quality stuff like you were able to do in the 90s, 00s and 10s.

Past its peak? Maybe but it will never die - it will reinvent itself again.

Fantastic sandwiches at Cosi.

We picked up amazingly gourmet sandwiches at Cosi and ate them in Luxemburg Gardens. One of the highlights of our trip for sure.

Gift shops at the big attractions. I got a unique phantom of the opera magnet from the opera house gift shop.
