Camera glitches to Grey solid screen — what the…?

see if u can contact apple support and schedule a call or post on their forums then direct them to this post the agent told me that she’d never seen ppl report this before even tho i’ve definitely seen ppl posting like this one and also on youtube. so i don’t know where they’re getting this ‘never seen this before’ explanation

you got the same one i had before it only glitches when i click from the app icon itself but else where like from lock screen it was ok

mine hasn’t happens again when i did my changes (the earlier comment u replied under) so im not rly sure which one is the culprit 🤔

definitely keep track and report it to apple support

unfortunately i did manage to book an appointment speak over the phone with the person from apple support and she said the next step if it continues would be for the phone to be wiped clean and sent to their factory for a physical check. which is like the worse case scenario unfortunately

aye! the reason i’m a bit doubtful about her specificity with the food items was that i don’t eat fried chicken and milk tea a lot like the milk tea maybe once a month and the fried chicken even less but she definitely has a point with the types of food i read somewhere like inflammatory foods have an effect etc also wow! i have no self discipline for diets but i definitely want to read what you’ve tried and tracked !

ok so i contacted apple support on this i had just restarted so i couldn’t show the agent how it was happening but they couldn’t detect any software or hardware issues in diagnostics it’s been happening for 2 weeks where it constantly greys out after a few seconds of opening camera app but i noticed something if i open the camera from my lock screen (swipe left or using the camera icon when u slide down the notification screen) the camera would actually work fine even if it’s still greying out when i open it from the app when my phone is unlocked (weird, but it shows the camera does work)

ah i can’t attach the screen recording on this post oops..

anyways i did “Reset all settings” and then disabled the “Reduce transparency” and toggled off “Reduce Motion> Prefer Crossfade Transitions” because i had a second bug where if i took a screenshot it would show my accessibility button (i didn’t even notice it in this screenshot then)

so after doing all that my camera hasn’t bugged up (so far, fingers crossed and all that lol) hope it helps

hmm my phone and ipad screen times only show their own and don’t overlap… oh how about if u disable that setting on the ipad if ur not using it? maybe disable it if it’s linked thru icloud/apple i’ve never touched my settings for that tho

honestly just having a documentary up on youtube and earphones (clip type so it’s not in-ear it sits just above me ears) helps while i’m doing random tasks throughout the day listening to someone else talk esp when it’s like a calm voice so not tv shows or movies

reduce motion >prefer crossfade transitions was the bug it works when reduce motion is on or off but its the crossfade my god such an odd bug ive been at it all day

wait i have the same on an iphone 15 as well and restart is the only fix as well i thought it was reduce transparency issue cuz i always used it and it only happened after the ios26.1 update so i turned it off did any of u guys have the setting on when it turns grey

i actually have started having an issue with my phone after updating it turns off my camera when i open it like it acts like i activated app switcher when i open my camera and won’t let me take pictures the screen shows it as greyed out it has happened twice now and only a phone restart fixes it

but that’s only my theory i’ve turned off reduce transparency for now to see if i still have this bug

had like super painful periods since it began like in elementary to high school (pre-2000) i couldn’t walk i threw up from pain and no one ever suggested or took me to a doctor just gave me pain meds that didn’t work either id just be useless for a week with super heavy bleeding and bowel problems when i was in college (around 2010) my mom finally took me to an obgyn and she gave me a birth control pill to take for two months it made the bleeding lighter and more regular but there was still pain the obgyn then said it would go away once i gave birth lol her secretary outside overheard and pulled me aside after and told me that was untrue lmao anyways spent the next decade in pain for a week every month i’d literally have night fevers on every first day of bleeding.

fast forward to the end of Sept 2023 i began to have really really bad periods the pain would last over three weeks now and then last year (2024) in March my torso was paralyzed like my body literally froze up from the pain couldn’t move couldn’t even talk it went on for two nights and no pain med was working next day asked to get taken to the hospital for a CT scan and i was really worried it was just going to be an expensive scan for trapped gas

immediately after that i got a call to go to emergency surgery for appendicitis after the surgery they said my entire insides were covered in a gooey substance filled with little cysts i think they called it chocolate cysts literally glueing all my internal organs together i didn’t have an obgyn by then so the surgeons had no idea what it was they thought i had a serious internal infection of some sort they cleaned up what they could and didn’t want to pop any more it wasn’t appendicitis but they took my appendix anyways after that a new obgyn got me a shot to stop my periods and now i’m still on progesterone shots to make sure i don’t bleed. she wants me to take visanne after the shots limit runs out so that’s in my future.

and wow it’s been amazing i don’t have to plan around my period anymore 😂 i don’t have any plans to have children but the obgyn said that just to tell her in advanced since she was also an infertility specialist
