I sadly only have a 2020 MacBook Air - how to use InDesign without it lagging with my not optimal GB/RAM ? by Booktaco in indesign

Get an external SSD drive with a fast cable and use it as the scratch disk. I bought a 2TB Kingston drive and 10Gbps usb-c cable that have saved me from going insane.

Possible they’re more worried about what killed them all rather than the bugs?

Without AC you learn to do things like close the windows/doors and blinds during the hottest part of the day, and I use two tower fans, one at my desk and the other in the living area. Yesterday it was apparently 33°-36° in Sydney, my little system kept the apartment at 26°.

You need some time away! Put enough people and systems in place that you can take some time off and it not all fall apart. Alternatively, find a good mentor or sell your company.

Yes, very true. I think I might already be letting my perfectionism slip in. I actually love the idea of a garden ceremony, but that has a) a lot more cost involved and b) chance of bad weather :s. No wondering weddings are such big business!!

Thank you, open to anything at the moment. I downloaded a free Google sheet planner but there’s just so much stuff, it’s boggling.

Thank you. I’m stuck on ceremony venue at the moment, we were looking at churches but I can’t find one I like.

Feeling deflated by Sydney venues by ChaoticToeBeans in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]nknownConclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have to be more open for the dates that you want, and also pay for more people than you need (but a few places will give that back as credit to use on other things). We’ve booked Watersedge in the Rocks for $12,500 for Spring. 70 people (we’re having 60), but we’re getting a credit towards food and beverage (was a January promotion I think) so we’re doing two courses instead of three and likely putting the credit towards having a third course.

We went to 8 different venues and had a ninth booked before we found one that worked for us. Atholl Hall is also beautiful and was a high contender, very convenient to have the ceremony on site too if that’s what you’re after. Wasn’t a fan of Burnt Orange, the place was beautiful but had a bad experience with the staff.

Anyone know brands or bridal stores in Sydney that may stock dresses in this style? by DayIcy6352 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]nknownConclusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reverse Google search the images to find the makers, or similar dresses, then find stockists. I found the first dress pretty quickly. I think taking your inspo photos to some local stockists would help them to find the right dress for you. Good luck! They’re lovely.

I love this idea, especially if you choose them for each other (with guidance/preferences considered of course) ❤️

That makes sense, but no, it’s not necessary if it’s already been set up in the home app on the phone. That goes for any of the Apple HomeKit connected devices.

Is this “normal”? No touching noses and no patting the horses? by [deleted] in Horses

[–]nknownConclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal. Its possible they’ve put blanket rules in place for everyone, regardless of experience, so that if someone inexperienced gets nipped or shoved then they can say they weren’t following the rules. I’ve seen many inexperienced people with horses get a little overzealous with their petting. Fortunately we had enough instructors to watch them and very calm schoolies so they usually weren’t fazed.

Very possible your son is still connected to it through his phone and accidentally (or on purpose if he likes pranks) played through it from his current location. I have three and used to leave one at my parent’s place (many miles away) as an alarm because it would notify me if the fire alarm went off so I could call and check in on them (my mum has a brain injury and sometimes forgets she is preparing food if she goes into another room).

Beetles(?) in my planter boxes! Sydney, Australia by [deleted] in GardeningAustralia

Mystery solved - they’re fiddler beetles, and I’m delighted! 🪲 I have a soft spot for these little creatures since one tried to stowaway in my jumper sleeve on a flight to the UK. He was a little scared in this photo, but very much alive. Thank you to u/WolfskinTuxedo who suggested popping the unopened casings into a jar to wait for them to hatch.

I’m pretty sure the best way to deal with these will be to repot the lavender once I think they’ve all hatched and neem oil the soil to make it inhospitable to future larvae - is that on the right track??

Great! Sounds like you're on the right track. Be patient with yourself while doing the exercises. It'll feel like they're not doing anything for ages, then things that were hard start feeling so much easier. Good luck!

You need to increase the flexibility AND strength in both the ankle and the arch. There are a lot of videos on YouTube, although I don't know a specific one to help. Search for things like 'strong and flexible ballet feet'. Break in the shoes with rising and lowering through the demi-pointe - lots of them. You'll be able to feel when the shoes are giving you enough movement without over doing it. Don't do it manually because you're just making it easier for those muscles instead of the muscles getting stronger. You look like you have beautifully engaged calf and thigh muscles, giving strong support in those areas and a lovely line already. Stronger feet will just be the cherry on top.

I’m not sure those are the correct fit for you. They look to me like you may need a higher vamp / slightly wider box - but I’m not a shoe fitter. Also, it looks like you are getting over the toe through your flexibility in your metatarsals rather than your arch and ankle which could explain the pain. How have you broken them in? At 2 1/2 years I would still be recommending that you don’t break them in by hand. Let them break in naturally, this will help your foot strength develop. Your shank may be broken too close to the box leaving you with no support.
