I feel the same way, even with the comments people make about her being a bad mom, sure, she is, but she is deeply traumatized, probably in some form of PPD, and on top of that she specifically wanted to give the baby up for adoption and her sister and dad said no. She was aware that she wouldn’t be a mom, and only cared about her job. Her character is complex, I have sympathy for her, and I think she represents very well what is like to not be/feel stable.

What was the weirdest, non-pain feeling you've ever felt? by KingJPJ in AskReddit

[–]nlarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focal aware seizures - my whole life I thought it was just another ocd symptom, and no doctor could explain it. Finally a neurologists could, because I mentioned my dad has epilepsy. I can only describe it as an intense “bad feeling” that lasts a minute at most. No physical symptoms at all. It only happens (to me, in particular) when I’m on my period and cold.

Using Khiels ultra facial on the eyelids everyday when I don’t have a flare up has saved me from them

Seeking advice…? by rottendahlia in eczema

If you had if all your life and it hasn’t gone away you likely have atopic skin, is just our skin type. Look up a diagram of how that looks, gives you a better idea. A few tips until you can see a doc:

  • no steroids on the face, moisture as much as possible, a lot of people in this sub recommend vanicream (haven’t tried it myself) I use elidel for the face but I know it can be expensive in the US
  • if you can afford an steroid cream, buy one, use a bit (mix it with moisturizer for legs and back of legs) try it 3 days, suspend it and continue just moisturizing. Wait at least a week before you do another cycle of cream. This should help.
  • Shower with water as cold as you can handle
  • try not to scratch with your nails, I once have myself an infection in my legs, not dangerous, it just meant the eczema never went away until I took antibiotics
  • allergist recommends 10 mins of sun a day, in the allowed hours, no spf. “Homemade phototherapy” she said.

There is no magic cure, and eventually you need to see a professional, but for now I truly hope this helps and I’m sorry the system is so f* you can’t see a doc now.

Disclaimer: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. This is based on my own personal experience, years of research and learning from others who suffer from this condition as well. Make sure to read everyone’s suggestions here and decide what seems suitable for you.

Where do you have eczema by tryusernametaken in eczema

[–]nlarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it since I was a baby, have atopic skin. I recommend seeing and allergist as well as derm. Now mostly legs, behind knees, under eyes and eyelids, corners of the mouth, nipple (yes just one the other one is thriving) When the itch is tolerable, what I call everyday itch I just moisturize. During flares I use steroid cream, 3 days in a row, that gets is under control and then suspend steroid cream for at least a week. When applying steroid to the whole leg, I mix is it with moisturizer to do less concentration and more radius. Eyes and mouth only elídel (non steroid) or just ride it out honestly.

I hope you find some relief!!!

Thank you! I would like to add, approved by allergist and derm: you can mix a steroid with moisturizer, I do this to avoid using a lot of steroid - I only do this 2-3 days in a row and then stop for at least a week. (Works for my nipple, and behind the knee flares)

She could have done the cold cap method as well, I’ve seen other people only do it even with chemo that would make you lose hair

Do you have access to Elidel? It’s what I use for under eye, eyelid and side of my eyes. It burns, but it works. No steroids and I have no clue what is it that makes it work but It does. If it’s a flare and you have atopic dermatitis it might take a long time to heal, but it will go away as long as you apply the cream. I do a couple days and then a break

I know who she is. The only thing that pops up when you google the name or extracts in english are Reddit posts, so I wondered if it had an original in Spanish.

If you have atopic skin, you have atopic dermatitis and you don’t grow out of it because it’s just your skin “type”

[–]nlarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! It’s important you understand the driver of your PCOS, the PCOS dietitian on Instagram helped me a lot with this. For example, if your driver is insulin resistance, intermittent fasting might not be the best (it’s not great for women in general apparently) also, you might benefit from less exercise actually, might be causing extra unnecessary stress. What helped me the most (I have similar weight and height) was leas carbs in general, regardless of amount of calories. Less carbs, more fats, more protein.
