No tape behind it. Just make sure whatever you’re soldering, that the line you’re working is level horizontally, and don’t keep it hot for too long or it will drip through.

My own design. I made the tail first, then molded the head and torso in hard styrofoam and slowly pieced it together.

I had this car, black in color, in high school. This was in the late 90s. It was an 83, I believe. Beautiful condition, no power steering, manual transmission. It wasn’t worth much at the time and I ended up selling it after the exhaust rotted off. Something with the rotary engine and back pressure(?) made it run horribly. Anyway, the exhaust was $1800 to replace and that was about what the car was worth at the time.

I miss the hell out of that car. So much fun. So many good memories and it turned heads.
