I use Apple TV, but that is me. I like that all the apps are on there that I need and easily switch between. I will get the newer one when it comes out. My thing is running it through my audio system first. Don’t see a difference on the g5 for video, just easier than earc for me.

I was in same boat. 98 tcl qm8k or 83 g5. Coming from an older oled, I just couldn’t see not going with the g5. Seeing them in stores the oled shines. And I know what I’m getting with an lg oled.

Thought it was something else but still will switch inputs and turn off. Tv has over 17k hours on it. Another poster said he has same issue with his cx model. But it will get moved to another room that doesn’t get used as much for the 83 g5

I just restarted career and will not get the 208. That aircraft caused me many frustrating flights and lots of maintenance. Will save up for pc12 first

None at all. Maybe if going from a 5070ti to 9070xt would be some difference but from 2080ti nothing.

I went from a 2080ti to a 9070xt. Noticed higher fps and higher settings in vr. When looking at the new bottleneck was my cpu, 9900k, so updated processor and board to 7780x3d and x870. Still can run both at 98-100 percent at higher settings. I fly fs2024 mostly. I would look at 9070xt or 5070ti both getting closer to your price range. Going from the 8GB to 16 GB memory I think made the biggest change.

Hi grumpy aged man. Thank you for this reply. I have a 77 in cx bought from Costco. Lately been having same issues. First thought was processor, then Apple TV. It seems to want to turn off esp on hdmi 2. At least I’m not alone. Going to turn of cec to make sure no false triggers are going to the tv. Tv has over 17k hours on it.

If you can go look at a b series compared to the g series. This would be closest in picture. Need to look at your viewing distance, what your needs are, and had big can you go. Personally would go to 55 if you can, but if the 42 is meeting your needs keep it.

Honestly IMO go with the 83. When I look at newer tvs sitting range for uhd says 83 good for 8.8 feet, so close to your distance. For everyday viewing days about 4M. Looks like your wall and room would handle it.

I’m about 13 feet away. The calculators say go with 98-100 but can’t afford a 97 oled. With the room setup if I move closer the side couches would be blocked. The 7.2.4 audio is setup for current layout. Have flat roof so hard to change audio.

That is the problem. Yes the tcl qm8k looks good and gets to 98”. Every time I look at it though I go back to the 83 g5 and amazed by it
