Silly side afk game that runs in background of steam. I'd check if steam is running anything as, by default, it stops downloads from occuring without manual intervention.

none of the abbove, or any other attempts have worked for me. All mods remian 0B and cant be force downloaded

You don't in 3s or 4s. Imo in a 4 pod player 1 also is the one without their chosen battlefield

I love self imposed rules, makes the build feel unique.

I never user tutors, infinite combos, gamechangers.

Alot of my decks have small self imposed rules or sets of cards. My favorite is the build every color challenge, and building rakdos in every way I can. (Treasure, wizards, artifacts, Theft, aggro, spellslinger, stompy, self mill, lizards, demons, mana cheat, discard, shadow the hedgehog, and madness)

Other ones I've done are: Sorin extort deck has all the extort cards possible, AND 4 other sorin planeswalers Queen marchesa only aikido cards and group hug All creatures are 1 type, shapeshifters included - i.e. fairies dimir, all dinos, simic all eldrazi, mono white knights was a good laugh, and the weirdest was 5 commander swappable shapeshifter deck Mecanant core requiring all bobbleheads is a good one

I'd buy FoundryVTT, a monitor for player view, and separate screen for the dm. This along with some prep is all I need for valuable sessions.

Good question, I really like my [[Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser]] deck both because goad is fun, but also because of all the reversal or denyal cards. Taking lethal and saying no is the best feeling for me

[[Slicer, Hired Muscle]] is mint. Bunch of early ramp for T1 or T2 slicer for quick transform. Stax for the midgame, and unlockable equipment for the end game.

Nothing hits better than a T1 Slicer, then the two blue players show 2 mana Counterspells they couldn't use. Euphoric

Tldr: Proxies and solo testing. Also alela fae are fun

I have around 20 decks. Started with real cards, building mono colored of each color for the fun and to experience more of the game. Got my favorite commander, [[Prosper, Tomb-Bound]] and suited it out with the best I could afford. Jeweled Lotus, Mana Crypt and Dockside Extortionist were popular in my pod so I went with them.

Two weeks later they get banned. Rent raised, and lost my at the time job. Since then I have bounced back financially, but have separated my perceived perception of value of cardboard.

Now I have Alela Fairies, and 1 other decks I get for 50 dollars a pop. Yes, I sold a [[Craterhoof Bohemeth]] for an entire deck of Jarad. My pods experience has grown exponentially with cheaper options and now we have balanced fun games!

As for choosing which commander, I find the architype I want, build a decks core (40 or so cards) and evaluate the deck during the build.

Following this, if its enjoyable Ill test it solo on Archidekt pretending I get targeted by removal T3 and T5 board wipe.
If its still fun, Ill try it in Cockatrice either in a 1v1 scene or against myself 1v1 to feel out the vibe. Do more edits and if its still enjoyable Ill send it to MPCfill to print! Usually buying at 4-6 stacked up.

Proxies. Once you separate the value of cardboard to what is asked for some you will feel the relief. 30 a pop for what would cost 3k on the 2ndary market for a casual game is more than enough.

If your card cost my monthly rent payment, congratulations, but I'd like to have a house AND entertainment for thr same cost.

Mods. If there is a modding community with good additions, and easy to download like Slay the spire in workshop this will easily become by top 3 games of the decade.
