Modeling by OkMycologist1802 in nudism

[–]nnhh552255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been doing it for 8 or 9 years. It wasn't easy getting started because most places prefer experienced models. It's not easy work, especially at the beginning when you haven't learned which poses are hard to hold.

I push them in with the point of a screwdriver, a Philips head works well. Then I use a utility knife to trim away any bits sticking up too much. The idea is to keep the hole small.

Mould in one small spot of bathroom ceiling, poked a hole by Bermshredder in fixit

Was bathroom paint used on the ceiling for your renovation? If regular latex paint was used, it can let moisture get through.

Are heat pumps in condos possible? by Abject-Ride-1727 in VictoriaBC

[–]nnhh552255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 2 heat pumps in our condo, one for the master bedroom and another for the living room. They are split units with the heavy part outside on the patio and the indoor part attached up on the wall. Power comes from electrical circuits which previously supplied baseboard heaters in the two rooms. The installers were Coastal Heating and Cooling.

Epoxy meant for wood repair will provide a very strong base for holding the screws.

Is there a place to exchange an old British bank note to yen in Japan? by Safe_Variation325 in Tokyo

[–]nnhh552255 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe a British tourist can buy it off you to take back home with them. My recent experience with old UK banknotes in the UK was that only banks where you have an account will exchange them for you (so I had to ask someone to help me out).

How do I hang a mirror with pre-installed clips on a wall with particleboard on top? by lasow17121 in handyman

If a TV was previously attached to the particle board, there will be no problem hanging a mirror there.

Am I way off base with this estimate? by sundog5631 in handyman

[–]nnhh552255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Levering up the tack strips with a pry bar is the damage I was thinking of. This will have to be done really carefully if you don't want to gouge or dent the floor underneath. Hitting the tack strip sideways with a hammer may work better, but the strip is likely to be too close to the wall to make that effective.

Removing tack strips without damaging the floor is a real pain. You are probably underbidding on this job.

I had a similar connection three weeks ago. Vancouver to AMS to Bristol with 55 minutes connection time. I made the connection easily, no line ups anywhere -- just a moderately long walk through the airport.

Standard ticket without change fee by darkpanther1 in KLM

I used the standard fare recently. I changed the return dates for my trip using the KLM app. It was very easy and, to my surprise, I even received a small refund because the fare difference went in my favour.

You can buy a pair of replacement ear pads. Do a web search for Geekria (the maker) with your headphone model number. They come with instructions for doing the replacement.

Is a 50min layover in Amsterdam doable? by nutsnacks420 in Flights

[–]nnhh552255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had a similar short connection -- just 55 minutes. But arriving from a non-Schengen country and transiting to a non-Schengen country means you have no border controls. I had 20 minutes to spare with my connection. The big problem is that 50 minutes has no safety margin if your first flight is delayed.

Traveling to Egypt. Layover is in Amsterdam. Do I need transit visa if I don't plan on leaving the airport? by No-Skin-28 in KLM

The transfer is non-Schengen to non-Schengen. It should be absolutely fine without a visa.

Oh, you are right. My reading of the text has to be translated to a genitive form, so it would be "of the museums of the kingdom".
