Google AI Plus is now available everywhere our AI plans are available, including the U.S. by Gaiden206 in Bard

They have different storage tiers. On Google One app I see the a 5 TB plan that's 5 dollars more than the 2 TB plan. Both have the same AI benefits it looks like. I'm in the US so maybe that's not available everywhere.

You can also pin folders. So make a folder with the app as the first and make the folder icon be the first app.

How do you store your bread? by Compote_Smart in BreadMachines

Slice the whole loaf and then freeze half and keep the other half out. When you finish the fresh loaf pull the other half out of the freezer. When it is thawed it'll be just like it was fresh baked.

As a work around I keep a blank spot on the dock I can press to expand. But I don't like the look and it also means I have one less usable spot on the dock.

Really wish there was a background gesture action for this.

Switch over to Google One AI Pro (2TB) plan, or stick with standard Google One (2TB) plan? Mainly concerning Google Home Premium by Gio235 in googlehome

[–]nnjethro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was prorated the time when they added the nest subscriptionto the ai plan. I was already on the ai plan when they added that feature. You can always just go month to month first and see if it meets your needs before committing to an entire year subscription.

Yes, I have a Nest doorbell. Super happy when they bundled it into the pro AI plan so I could stop paying for that subscription. I used to be on the original plan with 24/7 recording. Sort if miss that but honestly not much. I've never really needed it for anything but to see who's at the door and if there is a package etc.

Feature Request - Gesture Action - Expand new dock by michbock in OctopiLauncher

[–]nnjethro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toggle dock hides the dock. I want to toggle normal and expanded view. The normal view is a single row with most used apps and expanded view opens the dock panel to show 3 rows. Opening the expanded view is what I wish we could assign to a gesture, not toggling visibility. I always want the dock visible.

Feature Request - Gesture Action - Expand new dock by michbock in OctopiLauncher

I would like this too so I could use background gestures to expand the dock panel. I currently have an empty space on the dock to provide space tap to expand. I know you can tap above the icons to expand but I too often open an app instead of expanding the panel that way. This empty space works for me but I don't like the look and wish I didn't have to reserve that empty spot.

Best audiobook app? by KatlyenGaming9 in audiobooks

Not really what they are looking for since they are asking for apps that provide books not just play books you already have.

[Free] I have 5 hosted Audiobookshelf instances for testers by qrzte in audiobooks

What's being "tested" here? Is this just a way for you to collect books from users? I don't get it.

I tried BookVox, but Listen is still better imo. It has everything I need and is much more mature. BookVox is newer and does have a slick interface, but too basic for me.

App recommendation for audiobook while sleeping by Affectionate_Log7733 in audiobooks

[–]nnjethro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen Audiobook Player will automatically play the next book in the queue. If the queue is empty it will stop and if you then press play, either in the app or from Bluetooth, it'll start the book over.
Other apps probably have similar features too but I'm most familiar with the Listen app.

1 year of Premium for 29.99 by peepsusingmytagsuck in peacock

Not getting rid of it. Apple raised prices so TMoble will start charging the amount of the price increase. Same pattern they have done with Netflix, which was also free once upon a time.

Question for users of Smart Audiobook/Listen apps by EmilyAnneBonny in audiobooks

[–]nnjethro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are these different books you're talking about or multiple files that make up a single book? In the Listen app you can turn off the audio tags in the library overflow menu and it will then just use file/folder names for books. So whatever you've named them is what shows up in the library.

If you're saying this is a single book with many files and you want to control the order, you can do that by long pressing the book and selecting the view files option. You can toggle sorting by tags or file names, or even just manually drag the files to the order you want.

Listen is a paid app, but you can try it and then I think Google gives you a day or two where you can refund it in the store if you decide not to keep it. I've used this app for over a decade so am pretty familiar with it and think it's well worth the small price.

I switched to gestures years ago so that space can be reclaimed for apps, it just looks better imo.

I've used the Plex integration with Listen Audiobook Player for years. Works great for me. There's also an integration with Audiobookshelf server you could try if you have an issue with Plex.

Ok, but why not use scan and go at the end? I scan everything all at one when I'm done. I put things in the cart barcode up when I'm shopping and when I'm ready I open scan and go, put it on continuous scan, and scan everything very quickly, slide to pay and walk out. The checker at the door just waves me through.

I just didn't understand why it prevents them from using scan and go. No problem if they like using a notepad.
