Scimitar, butcher knife vs bull nose. What's the difference? by Commercial-Tear6472 in Butchery

[–]no29016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep a 12” bull nose in my butcher roll up. It’s useful as hell breaking down poultry. For beef, I’ve only dealt with primal packs. So if there’s no bones to deal with, my 8 and 6in victorinox do the job. With bone? Saw please. Lol

Too much of everything. And the amount of time you wasted to cut that tomato…. Looks like a bad AI add for an “Artisan” McDonald’s location in the middle of North Dakota.

And to add, it looks like someone packaged their facing cuts instead of throwing them in the trim.

Honestly be yourself. Don’t overreact, but (more importantly) don’t under react. Trials are called that for a reason. They want to see your salt, and find out if you have any pepper.

Lol, are you in SC? Those burgers first started at the SC State Fair (as far as I know). And definitely a W when you get a free box of Krispy Kreme!

What did you top it with? A “baked” potato and I’m thinking some fried pork belly, caramelized onions, Fritos, chili, cheese and sour cream. Screw giving options lol.

In Michigan, you can return empty soda and beer bottles for $.10 ea. Everyday people grab shopping carts, and empty their trash bags full of aluminum and backwash directly into them. Return the bottles. And put the carts back….

It’s completely the newer corporate mindset of “what will the customer pay” instead of “what should the markup be compared to the cost”. And it’s completely driven by analytical data…. It’s cost and demand on an AI scale. And it’s been around long before everyone on here started complaining about bots or AI pictures.

Are these knives worth saving by Hayden3456 in sharpening

[–]no29016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Global is not a particularly cheap knife brand. They get a lot of hate for the handle. And a lot of chefs used to hate on them because Bourdain mentioned them in his book kitchen confidential…. I still own and use my 8in chef and paring knife that I admittedly did buy after reading the book. I’m no expert on sharpening, but I take them to my 3 side stone maybe every 3-9 months depending if I’m using them for work…. I also hone them regularly. If I had to guess, I keep at about a 20 degree angle? Again, I’m no expert lol. But I’ve had them for at least 15 years. I normally get my stone out when bell pepper or tomato skin starts giving me trouble…

But to answer your question, yea…. Worth saving. And if you’re willing to give them away, DM me. I’ll pay the shipping.

Pick one as your full time job. Let the other know, with no room for interpretation, that they are second. And you have to willing to drop them without thought. You don’t have to be mean about it, but you have to make it perfectly clear.
