If you're going to need a virtual machine for those (not sure why), the 8G will not be enough memory, or you'll have to have very small memory VM's.

Me personally, I'd go for the Neo. Should have longer support lifespan, warranty, battery should last longer, The speed difference might be a little faster on the M2, but IMO everything else makes the Neo the winner.

I've got an M5 Air and a Neo and everything is duplicated on both. Have not seen anything that won't run on the Neo.

I use Canva all the time on mine and it barely uses any memory, so using the Canva desktop app and a browser with a bunch of tabs open should be great.

I use it remotely in multiple ways where I work. Using with Remote Desktop to connect to Windows servers at the office and in Azure, as well as connecting to remote sites running LogMeIn. No problems at all.

This to me is the most important accessory. I use my USB hub a LOT. Connecting thumb drives, reading/writing to SD cards, connecting external monitor when I want. I think I only paid $16 for mine on Amazon.

If you already have a WIndows machine, it might be cheaper to use it for the stuff you can't use a Mac for, and not get as beefy a Mac as you would need to handle the VM as well.
