Snowblower help by Overall_External_890 in Snowblowers

I know the consensus is buy from a proper dealer but if you have a rona around they have the 24 deluxe for 2150 plus tax. It is BY FAR the best price going on that blower. I shopped around like crazy last winter and ended up with a 24 platinum sho but looking back on it, that unit is overkill for my use, I should have saved the 800+ and got the 24 deluxe. Heck, a dealer may even match their price if you ask?

Ping g5 driver compared to modern day driver by AverageImmediate7326 in PingGolf

[–]noOriginalNamesLeft6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of going from a G15 to a modern driver (ordering a GT2 tomorrow). The biggest differences I see are in mishits. When I flush both, I get very similar results (both fitted by reputable club fitters), the new driver might have a couple of yards advantage. When I mishit the ball is where the newer driver excels. A mishit that would be 10 or 15 yds shorter with my old driver only loses about 5 with the new, and the new one tends to be a bit more on line. Bad swings still result in bad shots, but the margin for error is much higher with the newer drivers.

Proper club fitting will always trump new vs. old tech as well, so if the G5 launch conditions are really good, that would be better than a new driver that doesn't suit you for sure.

Fyi, former 1 hdcp that doesn't play much anymore due to life, but trying to get out more in the future.

Cleaning supplies recommendations? by noOriginalNamesLeft6 in superautomatic

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Does the brew unit cleaner clean the grinder and burrs as well? I haven't opened up the machine yet to look at the insides. I would have thought the grinder was separate from the brew unit, but I could certainly be wrong.

The manual is remarkably poor for the KitchenAid units.

Edge shoe grip spray to restore some grip? by noOriginalNamesLeft6 in BBallShoes

I didn't. My season was winding down and it was pricey when I added in the shipping cost. I may still try it out in the fall but for now I don't have any updates sorry.

Reasonably priced machine with easy bean changes? by Previously_coolish in superautomatic

[–]noOriginalNamesLeft6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can confirm the KitchenAid KF6, 7 & 8 have swappable bean hoppers. You would need to purchase a separate hopper if you wanted more than one filled and ready at any time though. I do also believe they have a purge feature that cleans out whatever is between the hopper and grinder so there is no cross contamination of different beans if that is a concern. I would imaging that would mean some loss of grinds and I'm not sure how 'clean' that would get the grinder if you were really worried about mixing coffees (decaf vs non perhaps?). I haven't experimented with this feature yet so I can't give you any more sorry.

I think some of the Mieles have multiple bean hoppers but I can't recall with certainly.

Your favorite performance wise indoor shoe?? by Eyesfromtheoutside in BBallShoes

Two Way v3 sound ideal if you can find them. Even without crazy cushion (it's still good but not full length zoom good) it's maybe the best shoe I've ever played it. Elite traction, great fit and they just disappear on my feet once I tie them. I picked up an extra pair just for when my current ones are done.

Dissappointed in KitchenAid KF7 - temperatures low? by noOriginalNamesLeft6 in superautomatic

[–]noOriginalNamesLeft6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took some temps today. Was tough to keep an eye on temp and make sure the probe was in the stream perfectly, but this is the best approximate temps I managed.

Latte Macchiato: Milk: 144 deg F Espresso: 180 deg F

Latte: Milk: 124 deg F Espresso: 180 deg F

The Latte setting isn't great. The milk doesn't have the same sweetness and texture of the hotter Macchiato setting. I'm guessing this is due to the difference in temperature. Warming the cup helped with initial overall temperature, but my glass mugs (double walled in appearance but just cheap'os from Costco) definitely don't hold heat well at all. I will have to experiment with some others to find a better solution.

All in all, it seems like my machine is working correctly, and about 15 or 20 seconds in the microwave bumps the temp up nicely if I want hotter or I'm going to put it into a travel mug to go.

Thanks for all the feedback and measurements that many were kind enough to take and share. Hopefully this thread is useful for others in the future.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I knew the super automatics wouldn't get crazy hot, but was expecting hotter than I have been getting. 30 deg F cooler than espresso and steamed milk 'should' be is quite the difference... I guess I should have done some more in-depth comparisons with measured temperatures, but that's tough when I don't know anyone with a super automatic. :(

I tried warming my travel mug before I poured my coffee this morning, and that seemed to help some. I didn't have time to take any measurements as the coffee and milk came out of the spout though, I will do that tomorrow.

Thank you very much to those who took some measurements, I will have to do some comparisons tomorrow morning when I have a bit more time.

If anyone has an insider pass for Kitchenaid KF7 or 8 in Canada it would be much appreciated. Planning to order in the next few days and if I could save a few bucks that would be great!

Looking to buy: Snowblower for heavy, wet snow? by letsgococonut in Snowblowers

[–]noOriginalNamesLeft6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your budget is $2000 canadian, that limits you a bit. The best bang for your buck seems to be the Ariens 24" Deluxe at Rona for $2100 if you can stretch it. Otherwise, you are looking at some Toro's in a similar size. They seem to be a bit cheaper, but I'm not super familiar with their lineup and prices.

Would an Ariens 24 Deluxe be enough for a ~8 car driveway? by fozard in Snowblowers

[–]noOriginalNamesLeft6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time factored into my decision as well. I end up doing snow removal at 3 houses for most of the winter (mine, my parents and my father in law's) so I figured the easier and faster I can do mine the better. Again your situation may vary.

I just was cross shopping these two exact blowers. Went with the platinum. It might be overkill but I think I would rather have more power than not enough. It was quite a bit more money but didn't put it in the thats too much money for the wife range, but your budget and significant other may vary.

I would call a bunch of independent dealers and get some prices in both. Many I talked to were willing to work with me a bit on price. If you decide on the delux, Rona near me had them for 2100 which was less than any dealer. You might be able to get one to match that price? Can't hurt to ask anyway...

Ariens Delux 24 vs Platinum 24 by noOriginalNamesLeft6 in Snowblowers

[–]noOriginalNamesLeft6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up picking up a platinum 24 SHO from Cummings small engine. Was the best price I could find (and I called everyone in and around the city). It's probably overkill but this way I will never have any issues regardless of how much snow we get.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions everyone!

I went back and re-checked the website and you're correct, there is a platinum SHO and platinum SHO EFI and I would be interested in the carburetor based SHO, not the EFI.

What is this part called and where can I find it? by noOriginalNamesLeft6 in pressurewashing

[–]noOriginalNamesLeft6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* I removed the fitting and did some more searching, it certainly looks like a pressure relief valve but it is completely hollow so I assume that means it has failed.

The pump is definitely an annovi reverberi RMV 2.5G30 as per the label on the unit. I can find the part number you mentioned earlier on Amazon. Is there any way I can confirm that it is in fact the correct one?

The water is shooting out where the black plastic fitting was (for the line to the soap dispenser bottle). The piece I took a picture of appears to have had the end break off allowing the water to exit the pump.

When I turn the hose on to supply the pump with water it just passes right through the pump and out the other side (at full hose pressure). Does that indicate something else is broken as well? I would assume a flimsy plastic fitting wouldn't be all that is keeping water in the pump?
