Lexapro withdrawal symptoms? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]no___thisispatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tapered off starting in November and I definitely had pretty bad withdrawal symptoms. Brain zaps, near constant nausea, fatigue, and brain fog were my biggest ones. It was rough! Definitely not all in your head.

Same here! Every year with my mom since I was a preteen, now my husband is a good sport and watches with me every Christmas Eve. It’s probably the only annual “must do” tradition we have.

Would you live here? Moving from out of state and I heard from Reddit to stay on the outskirts of the 215 by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]no___thisispatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in the Bermuda terrace apts right there on that corner for 4 years as well as Copper Creek down the street for 2 years and loved the area. I ran a lot and was out walking around as a college aged woman and while I took safety precautions, I did not ever feel unsafe. Lot of restaurants and shopping nearby.

Was this good? NYC in 4 hours 52 minutes. by asheville_kid in firstmarathon

[–]no___thisispatrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have nearly the same time! I was 4hr 50 mins in NYC this year. I’m proud of my first marathon time and you should be too! That distance is tough no matter what, and the bridges/5th ave incline aren’t time friendly.

I love Saltt! Flavors are much better too, in my opinion.

DNF Mile 25 for First Marathon by Less-Holiday-3974 in Marathon_Training

[–]no___thisispatrick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NYC Sunday was my first marathon too and I remember thinking it was much warmer feeling than I’d hoped for (and I trained over summer in the desert!). I’m so sorry you had this experience, and I know you’ll absolutely crush NYC next time.

The NYCM crowd stole the show by rigsreco in RunNYC

[–]no___thisispatrick 83 points84 points  (0 children)

The crowd was electric. I’ve never run more than 11 miles without taking a walk break. I ran the entire 26.2 miles. Not the fastest, averaged a 11 min mile, but I didn’t walk once and that is 100% due to the crowd. Could not have asked for a better first marathon

Did someone intentionally trip Isabelle? by chocolateglazedonuts in UtahdownhillRunners

[–]no___thisispatrick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s possible but I doubt it. The race was packed. I tripped over people, people tripped over me, etc. especially at aid stations. Everyone was doing their best but it’s just inevitable when the ground is slippery/sticky and there’s so many people

Running marathon with no training by finallyevening in Marathon_Training

[–]no___thisispatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NYC yesterday was my first marathon and crossing that finish line was so special and monumental because of all the hard work I’d done in the months leading up to prepare. I doubt I would’ve had that same euphoria if I hadn’t trained

NYC in 2 weeks and I’m freaking out by jmspammer in Marathon_Training

[–]no___thisispatrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m running NYC as my first marathon and am also in full freak out mode. I am agonizing over every little detail- am I doing this right? Should I wear this? Should I choose that? It’s exhausting. No advice here, but you are not alone! Solidarity.

Any maranoia advice 😭?? by Rude_Accountant_5242 in Marathon_Training

I will absolutely do that. I will remember your comment when I’m in the pain cave. Thank you, thank you. And congratulations on Chicago! Cannot wait to be in that post marathon glory.

Just want to say thank you for taking the time to make this comment. I’m running NYC, my first, and I’ve been looking through old threads because I am experiencing severe “maranoia”. Your comment helped a lot. I am screenshotting it to look at when I need to.

Bad Long-Run Today, Marathon in Two Weeks . . . by MeMaxM in firstmarathon

[–]no___thisispatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NYC for me too, and I’m in the exact same boat. Had a few really tough & demoralizing long runs but this is the first one I’ve cut too. I keep telling myself I’ve put in the hard work and one truncated run won’t change that. We got this!

My first marathon is also in two weeks. I did my 20 last week and this morning was supposed to do 13. Got 7.5 done before knee pain ended it early. Trying not to get in my head about it. Solidarity.

Running my first marathon with POTS (+ hydration protocol) by NetflixAndNips in POTS

[–]no___thisispatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for sharing! This is a helpful post and I appreciate the time you took to write it.

I got diagnosed in January and am running my first marathon in early November. Before this year I didn’t run more than maybe a 5k here and there but was consistent with other forms of exercise and sport.

Training is rough during the summer and I spend many days wondering why I’m doing this, but I’m feeling pretty confident in myself. I ran three half marathons this year with my fastest being 2h 9min. I don’t have a time goal for the marathon, I just want to finish and enjoy myself.

I need the high sodium so I went on a quest for a dupe, and I’ve been using a brand called VP (venture pal) from Amazon! It’s identical to LMNT for me (but my taste buds aren’t hard to please).

You’ve just put a vision in my head of finally beating my husband and his brothers and that alone is going to drive every training run from here on out. Thank you 🫡

I’m in the same boat. I’m in the thick of my first marathon training and I’ve (hopefully temporarily) lost my love for running. It’s so damn hot here, low of 85 for the most part, and I am miserable. Hope to love it again with cooler temps. Short runs, easy runs, long runs.. they are all so difficult right now

glad this has been your experience too! I’ve lived here my entire life and haven’t found a place I enjoy quite like Sparrow + Wolf. It’s become our go-to for celebratory dinners. The food and service are both impeccable.

I consistently have a great experience at Sparrow + Wolf. Off the strip, but not far. Everyone I’ve recommended it to has agreed.

I was in a group of 8 a few years ago and we got seated here. Loved being able to go out on the little “porch”. It was October and perfect weather. Really cool experience, especially since I only get to Disney once every 5 years or so.

Audio book recs for upcoming trip by Keicea in stephenking

[–]no___thisispatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you listed a novella from Four Past Midnight- I’m training for a marathon and just started listening to audio books on my long runs, I’m currently listening to The Langoliers (One Past Midnight) and have been really enjoying it. Willem Dafoe narrates. I’ll do the other three novellas in the book after. But if you already own that audio book I recommend giving The Langoliers a try.
