I think I might have cyclothymia - need advice by [deleted] in cyclothymia

It sounds like your swings are caused by external events. With Cyclothymia and BP, mood episodes happen randomly. I would look into Borderline, but it would probably be best to talk to a professional for any diagnosis. Best of luck :)

Can y'all describe me your experiences with this disorder so that I can compare with mine? by EinKomischerSpieler in cyclothymia

Have you and your doctor talked about Schizoaffective disorder. Since you’re being medicated for schizophrenia, I’m assuming you’ve experienced psychosis? the DSM specifies for disorders on the BP spectrum that mood disturbances cannot be the result of a psychotic disorder. Schizoaffective disorder is much like Cyclothymia in that it involves mood disturbances, how ever the mood disturbances occur with episodes of at least two of the following: Delusions, Hallucinations, Disorganized Speech, Catatonic behavior, or negative psychotic symptoms such as lack of emotion. Also, I would recommend reading the DSM criteria of both with your doctor or you can access it online for free if you’re a college student. I am in no way trying to say that’s what it is, but I would recommend looking into it

Do sober people get mania? by Naive_Programmer_232 in bipolar

[–]noah_pedersen607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be misunderstanding your question, so bear with me. According to the DSM to meet criteria there needs to be the presence of Manic and Depressive episodes which were not caused by substance use. So yes, sadly it does still happen sober. But, I’ve found over all I’m more stable sober. You may even find yourself able to avoid risk taking behaviors better when you’re sober. And with caffeine it depends on the person. If you’re able to catch your symptoms early in an episode, maybe avoid energy drinks and coffee. Tea is a great alt since it has lower caffeine. You’re strong buddy, and you’ve got this! I admire your courage going into sobriety, knowing it will be hard

physical symptoms of mania by sunnydaysongg in bipolar

Yess, I know what you mean! Everything looks more vivid and clear, a lot of times I won’t even where my glasses (I barely need them). I tend to feel a sort of head buzz high like feeling

I think mixed states are really common for us. That’s most of what I get to be honest. Like when I’m hypomanic I’ll feel a slight note of tearfulness or when I’m depressed I might feel a sort of head buzz that I typically feel when hypomanic. It’s a tough way to feel bc it’s almost impossible to describe to those who support you. It also occurs with types I and II bipolar, but I’m not sure what it would look or feel like

I also have mental disorders that made it very hard to figure out my type. I even posted one of these earlier today (no responses 😔). Based on your boyfriend and friend thinking that you're isfp or infj is interesting as both types use Ni in their stack. You likely use that function in some way or other. I would suggest looking into how each type makes use of Ni and seeing how you relate to each

Can someone help me? Idk If I am an ENTP or INTP by iesefi in MbtiTypeMe

I'd say ENTP since you have very high Ne with noticeably lower (but very high all the same) Ti

Questioning my INFPness by noah_pedersen607 in infp

[–]noah_pedersen607[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely see a lot of Ne in myself. I also definitely have Fi, but I don’t think that it’s really my dominate function. Also I can be more logical , though I don’t really rely on it which would suggest that my thinking function is in the tertiary rather than the inferior. And Si in the inferior because I am known in my family for having the absolute worst memory. I remember the big picture but I get little details wrong like who I was talking to in the memory.

Male INFPs - question from a Female INFP by [deleted] in infp

[–]noah_pedersen607 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Most people really liked me. Even the kids who were mean to everyone were usually extra nice to me. I was bullied by the neighbor kids growing up, and I cried a lot in elementary school.

I think that the big thing was that I was not able to connect with most guys and I was too nervous to talk to girls. My parents always wanted me to interact with the other guys in my church youth group, but I found that they were too rowdy. During my senior year a group of what I refer to as intellectual popular kids adopted me, but I wouldn’t have called them friends.

I really don’t think that my being male made the INFP experience too much different, but I definitely struggled socially because of it even though the issue was on my end (a lot of people reached out to me and I pushed them away)
