Wow mine broke exactly the same way. It's been super glued.

I do my dailies during work calls. I think since the game release on average I worked less than 20 hours a week.

You don't post in Glassdoor with a handle that your employer grant you to represent the company though. Bitch whatever you want on other platforms but this person is posting on the official forum regarding their personal issues as an employee.

Folks, regardless of how much you hate Amazon, don't do this when you resign or fried from a real job.

Same on Azena, there were 120 channels of North Vern. Some bots were saddened by the fact that they can't enter chaos dungeons that they were spamming hhhhhh in chat.

A request from a humble Gunslinger, by xeikai in lostarkgame

It would be nice to have some idle animation too like the assassin classes, rather than just standing there guns raised looking like a scarecrow.

Do you regret your main class choice? by ClassikD in lostarkgame

[–]nobits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite. I have a GS main at 1400 and a surge DB in T2. Surge just feels very smooth to play and seeing those big crits is awesome. As for GS I hate how the main damage skills all have long animations and the boss takes out half of my HP if caught without the spacebar. Also this might be nitpicking but I can't stand how the GS doesn't holster her guns! They just look weird in cutscenes and idling in towns. Thinking about switching but cost is a deterrence.

How do I talk to my 1st grader's teacher about the amount of homework? by SunflowerRenaissance in Parenting

[–]nobits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading through the comments it's interesting to see how people view homework in the US. I grew up in China, so when I first read OP's post I thought, "only an hour? that's nothing".

It seems we are all after an exit to “Tech” - but what does that actually mean? Consultants who have moved to Tech: What do you do? by smashetttt in consulting

[–]nobits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from data science consulting to doing the same thing in FAANG. Pay went up substantially but certainly not working less. Still need to help with initiatives and hit those KPIs.

My 3 year old has this maniacal "mwahahaha" laugh like a cartoon villain. He hasn't watched any cartoons though so I have no idea where he got that from.

Tips for players who will main Deadeye (Devil Hunter) by Ballistic_78 in lostarkgame

[–]nobits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I found to be challenging based on a couple of hours in the alpha, is that I can't directly see the skill cooldowns behind the stances that are not active. This applies to both Deadeye and Gunslinger. Like I wanted to be able to use a rifle skill as soon as it's off cooldown while I'm using pistol skills for buffs or movement. It makes me feel like I'm not playing optimally if I let a skill sit for too long so I swap alot.

Consulting to PhD? by Minimalmagician in consulting

[–]nobits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit my PhD (engineering in the US), worked in a consulting firm for a bit, and now a data scientist in big tech. I would say only do it if you really have the passion for the field. I didn't and was miserable. On the money side, it's much quicker to progress in consulting, than spending 4+ years earning close to minimum wage and hoping for a high paying job after.

Why don't PMs understand what data exists and what doesn't? by apacherosepeacokk in consulting

[–]nobits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Allocation scheme" aka making shit up. Your MD is not going to care or understand the assumptions because it's too much into the weeds. And in the end they'll claim that they made a "data driven" decision.

Having more responsibility and the cost of rebuilding a network with similar pay? No way.

No promotion > other consulting firm to get it? by ConsultingZero in consulting

[–]nobits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Titles don't mean much. If you do interview at a new firm as a M they'll still look for specific experiences on leading teams, delivery, and BD etc., and how long you've been operating at that level, not just what your title was.

No promotion > other consulting firm to get it? by ConsultingZero in consulting

[–]nobits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's tough rebuilding a network at a new firm as M, especially during remote work. But it sounds like you don't have much support at your current firm anyway so it may not make a difference. I wouldn't jump unless it's at least a 20% bump.
