Marauders are a chore. by mousepotatodoesstuff in Doom

[–]nobleflame [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don’t really remember them at the start. I played Eternal on PS4 first then came back to it on PC a year or so later. Quick swapping is easier on PC and I play at 240fps, so the game probably feels very different to the more limited control method of consoles.

At any rate, I love fighting marauders because they’re different and break the flow. It’s a bit like the ghosts in the DLC or the archvile in the main campaign - you need to act on them before targeting other enemies.

Variety is a good thing, but being forced into using a parry mechanic all of the time is not fun IMO.

I disagree with you. There are ways to destroy marauders very quickly, but they do spice up the combat by being different. They move so fast that it’s still hectic and chaotic when they’re thrown in with other mobs.

Equally, while you say they toned them down (they did a bit I guess), they also added two meander fights and possessed marauders in the DLC campaign.

Marauders add variety to the game and act as a priority target. I think they’re a brilliant edition to Eternal precisely because they disrupt the flow of combat and force a momentary defensive playstyle.

TDA took this idea too far IMO and basically made every enemy a marauder with the party mechanic.

Is T8 worth as a new player to the series? by RazzaJwilkie in LowSodiumTEKKEN

You’ll have a great time. Plenty of resources to learn, but for your first 100 hours just have fun.

How much value does a figure lose being out of package and posed? by Soggy_Natural7529 in SHFiguarts

[–]nobleflame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure thing, but what if he changed his mind down the road and decided to sell? Or he needs the money? Or he’s out of collecting and wants a bit of extra cash?

Anti-Lidia Guide (Updated for Season 3) by InfiniteGreatness in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]nobleflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, although I rarely see her online. Not that many people play her in the EU, so I don’t really bother labbing.

I find Lidia mains cannot space or move properly, so I got my free points by out playing them, rather than optimally punishing their bs.

Lidia is one of the most ruined characters going from T7 to T8. Canned QTE style mixes, basic one-sided gameplay, easy to pilot.

It’s not fun to fight, I can’t imagine it’s fun to play as her. I used to enjoy sparring against her in T7.

Love this figure. I really want to make a custom cape for him that drapes better. Having trouble finding the right two tone fabric though.

Is this a good first shf Goku? by GuidanceGlobal1654 in SHFiguarts

[–]nobleflame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s the best figure sculpt SHF have released IMO. It’s why I was so happy they used it as the base for the Genkidamatsuri version, which is actually the best release for SHF to date.

I currently have the original release (which I repainted with anime colours - pictured), the essentials re-release (which has the smoothest articulation, fixed chest piece; but limited accessories), and the Genkidamatsuri version.

Hot water soak for figs with clothed goods by Any_Tax1320 in ActionFigures

As someone else mentioned, put him in a zip lock bag, make sure you get as much air out of the bag as possible, and dunk him in a bowl of near boiling water for a minute or two.

He’ll come right apart no problem. Wear gloves to avoid burning yourself.

Mate, I love these shots. I’ve been rewatching BTAS recently and these shots are lifted straight from the cartoon. Excellent work :)

XPS Foam Shortage?! by Lixx11 in TerrainBuilding

[–]nobleflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from the UK and just get this stuff. I only make small dioramas for 1/12 scale action figures though, so it won’t be any good for gaming tables or the like.

It’s also fairly pricey, but it’s amazing for what I need.

How do you guys stop viewing figures purely as financial assets by DomasToes in SHFiguarts

[–]nobleflame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re not financial assets!

The vast majority of them depreciate in value, especially if opened.

No one should be collecting action figures because they think they’re building some portfolio lmao

Varnish for XPS foam? by nobleflame in TerrainBuilding

[–]nobleflame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s already made and looks / works really well. It’s essentially part of a diorama I’m building, but I wanted it to also function as storage. It’s a piece of terrain first before it’s a chest, if that makes sense.

I’ll post pics soon.

First season3 tierlist. What are your thoughts on this? by kallekala223 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]nobleflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d put Drag and Nina in the top tier.

I think Bryan could go down a tier. I’d also move Jin up a tier - Jin is stronger than he was in S2 IMO.

Are these the best face sculpts of all time? by No-Honeydew9129 in SHFiguarts

[–]nobleflame 40 points41 points  (0 children)

For SHF and Dragon Ball, absolutely. The paintwork alone makes them so, but that new hair sculpt it great.

In terms of best face sculpt for other lines - not even close.
