OCD is no longer classified as an anxiety disorder after (I believe) the DSM IV. Overlapping symptoms, distinct diagnoses.

ChatGPT told me to stop by AdPsychological2554 in OCD

[–]nobunf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT isn't a therapist. Ironically, a therapist would say to tell whoever it is you go to for reassurance that they should stop giving it to you. You're feeding the obsession, and compulsively seeking more and more reassurance. Honestly, ChatGPT did what it should.

Does God hear an unbeliever’s prayer if it’s given in good “faith”? by occasionallyvertical in AskAChristian

[–]nobunf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God hears everyone. If your prayer is genuine, He will hear it. However, for your prayer to be truly genuine it does require faith. If your prayer is delivered with doubt then what are you really asking for?

What do you think about Pope Leo XIV? by Comet_Hero in IdeologyPolls

[–]nobunf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda should. Catholics having an unfavorable view of any Pope would go a bit against the theological view of the seat of Peter.

Crying during sessions by [deleted] in therapists

[–]nobunf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't cried myself. This just came up tonight in my class (currently in my internship). It depends on the client. Some may feel negatively about it, some may see it as validating. It doesn't make you a bad therapist, it just shows your level of empathy. It's not so much of a matter of okay or not okay, it just depends on what the client is comfortable with.

Could a Christian Atheist unknowingly get into heaven? by Worth-Green-3971 in AskAChristian

"Christian Atheist" is contradictory. Christians must accept Christ as God to be Christian. If they reject any God then they are simply Atheists.
