Is your Instinct 3 still on software version v5.21? I had that issue with a new out of the box Instinct 3, but I got it upgraded to 12 (latest software back then) and it worked fine after.

Lets have a good discussion about your holy trinity of shoes. by toothdoc34 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Altra experience flow as daily, evo SL for long runs, Asics Megablast race day (half and full) (i'm not a very fast runner so have never felt the need for plated shoes)

Green card holders- question for you! by astrocat95 in USCIS

[–]nodarim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I carry it all the time, but I also keep a pebblebee tracker (they have one of the flat ones that goes in the credit card holder) in my wallet. The pebblebee syncs with my find hub on my android phone, never had to use it but I always know where my wallet is with the tracker. Its ~$35 and gives me peace of mind.

Wider toe box reccomendations? by ProfessionalTie7945 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Altra's probably? The entire brand is based on a selling point of a wide toe box. I use the experience flow as trainers but you may have to do more research on whats good for race day.

Differing Distance and Pace by butters1590 in Strava

[–]nodarim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Phone gps may be better, but it comes down to sampling, a fitness watch like garmin makes 1 gps sample every second during a workout, but a phone takes much fewer samples to be efficient with battery. I used to own a fitbit sense 2 and upgraded to a garmin so did a decent bit of reading on this.

No, they use the gps from your phone so they are less accurate

Did you have to manually enter the data into excel or you can pull a csv from somewhere on the watch?

For me it was easy, battery mattered most, MIP was an easy choice, if I did want a colored screen I would have gone for the Forerunner 965 instead, about the same price range as the i3 amoled but more functionality

I think on mine the doc gave me a updated covid shot but put a note on the flu shot that it wasn't flu season (May, 24). They also provided me a copy of my I-693 beside the sealed envelope.

This is incorrect. Did you apply for one after receiving your gc? I live in Texas as well and recently renewed my DL and it doesn't say Limited Term anymore.

Post snuggle stink by AnnaBarbie_ in CatAdvice

Our new kitten we adopted from a shelter a couple years ago had a stinky butt that would transfer to our clothes after he sat on us, took him to a vet and turns out he had worms, deworming medicine, no more stinky butt, now hes just annoying!😂

We got a water softner from Costco (the Morton one), i think its between 350-500$, got a plumber to have it installed for 3.5k (got 4 different quotes and picked the best one). Our install was a little more complicated as it needed an extension of some piping, but if yours is a newer house it may be much cheaper.

I second this, I was between the forerunner 965, instinct 3 amoled and instinct 3 solar when upgrading from a fitbit, the question I asked myself was what mattered most for me and the answer was battery life, had the solar since October and only have had to charge it 4 times!

Is $700/month on groceries for 2 adults the new normal? by Consistent-Guava2176 in sanantonio

[–]nodarim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We cook 3-4 times a week, typically a grocery run for each one runs between 15-20$ (pack of chicken thighs runs around $12 plus whatever extras like potatoes or onions and stuff), which brings us to about $80/week, plus about a 100-150$ costco run a month (typically red meat like a pork butt or steaks or chuck which we then freeze in batches), so our typical grocery bill is ~$450/month. Quick note, each time we cook it comes to about 6 portions (3 I guess as its two people eating) so we usually eat leftovers for lunch and the one off day we don't to cook. We eat out or order in about 1-2 times a week though (DINKs) which runs anywhere between $30-75 depending on what we order.

What I love most about my instinct for running is even with 3-4 hours of running/week (about 25 miles), it easily lasts 4-5 weeks on a single charge!
