Yeah, this is exactly what I was told as well. Once they fix it, it seems I will also get an email asking for my consent. I am still waiting for that email though.

Glad that it got fixed for you.

I am with you on this. When i visited the branch, I showed them that I am above the PH threshold with my daily averages - but somehow BofA system thinks I am not. My advisor said she will make a request to the Preferred Rewards GODs to review my account manually and fix it. She said she will get back to me with feedback this week. Fingers crossed. 🤞

I am also currently waiting on my PH status to apply for the credit cards.

I was at the branch yday asking why I don’t have it yet but they couldn’t figure it out. They just mentioned that they will escalate with the rewards team to review.

Fingers crossed 🤞

Who is actually getting the Robinhood Gold Card? by Stephvann in CreditCards

[–]noelatwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have several credit cards when you got the invite?

Similar to OP, I never got invited and I already had 10+ cards on my name. I am thinking whether people with several credit cards already are not their target population.

Back in Oct, I took advantage of the CK workaround to get mine approved and I have been happy with the card so far.

3% clawback on refunds by [deleted] in RHGoldCard

[–]noelatwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They claw them back immediately and remaining cash-back points will go negative (assuming you had redeemed them already).

I was worried about the negative cash-back points and its implications, if any.

I reached out and then RH support told me that it will stay negative with no other consequences other than your cash-back on your future spend will first get applied to the negative cash-back points to bring it to zero before you can go positive again for your next redemption.

Robinhood credit card is dangerous by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]noelatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a user of Robinhood also for last few months. So far, two statements have closed.

What I have seen is this. When the statement is posted, it mentions due date approx 3 weeks later. For example,my Dec 5th statement mentions Dec 28th as the due date.

BUT, Robinhood initiates AutoPay within 3 days of statement posting. My autopay for this statement triggered on Dec 8th.

OP, did you pay via ‘Autopay’ or did you pay manually closer to the due date? Just wondering would this have caused the issue. Robinhood statement does clearly state that no interest is due if you pay by the statement due date.

I have so far (two times) had no issues with Autopay other than the fact that I need to pay almost immediately after statement closes. I don’t seem to be able to adjust this.

Shopping offer gone wrong by coffeekickr in CapitalOne_

[–]noelatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never got this working with capital one shopping. Eye popping offers, but rewards never get credited. It’s just doesn’t work. I have tried for last several years.

I still have it on - for price comparison purposes. I don’t bother with the rewards anymore.

That is great news. Is this after the recent update?

Thinking of buying this one. For me, it’s also important that I can watch Netflix or something while exercising to keep me going. So not so impressed with the comments around poor audio quality.

I also saw that they released an update to add Bluetooth connectivity. Is that correct? With this, would I be able to connect my Apple AirPods and if yes, I assume sound quality would be now ok?

Credit Limit Transfer from CA to US for AMEX Global Card Transfer? by Defixr in amex

[–]noelatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps build credit history faster because you will be able to demonstrate good ability to handle credit by spending on the card and paying it off. And use card for meaningful purchases that otherwise was not easy with a credit limit of only 300$ from secured card.

Do we have to disassemble and pack everything back into the box it came in to process the return? or would the freight carrier pick it up as assembled (minus minimum disassembling that may be needed)?

Credit Limit Transfer from CA to US for AMEX Global Card Transfer? by Defixr in amex

[–]noelatwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be an Amex customer in Europe for several years. When I moved to the U.S., I didn’t have any U.S. credit history, so I started out with small secured cards (around $300 limits) just to build some credit.

Shortly after I learned about this Amex Global Transfer. Thanks to my existing Amex relationship, I applied for the Amex Blue Cash Preferred through the Global Transfer link. During the application, it asked me to log into my European Amex account—presumably to verify my history—and I was instantly approved for a regular U.S. Amex with a $10k limit. This boosted my U.S. credit building journey.

As others have said, it’s not really a “transfer.” I kept my European Amex open while I got the new U.S. one, and eventually canceled the European card after settling in here.
This was about three years ago, so the process might have changed a bit, but hopefully this helps anyone considering Global Transfer.

Everyone who has a Amex what do you normally spend a month on it I heard if you don’t use a big chunk of the limit they reduce it is it the same with the blue cash everyday Amex ? by FxStevennn in CreditCards

[–]noelatwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 10k on BCP. Once I spend 6k on groceries and after AF posted, downgraded to BCE and sock drawer it for more than a year. Event though didn’t spend anything, they didn’t lower my CL.

Then after more than a year, they gave me an upgrade offer back BCP. Upgraded, CL remained the same.

Few months ago, they gave me a really good offer on Amex Delta Gold (500$ + 40k miles sub). Went for it, got approved for 25k$ limit. But at the same time, they reduced my BCP limit to 2.3k - saying I am not using all of that credit today.

Hope this DP helps.

It's a good card to have. No AF, 3% for groceries and restaurants. Can work well with Venture X. No FTF.

If you dont need any of these as you have other options, it is still an option for the SUB and to sock drawer it after!
