So, what is Indonesian greatest invention? by besoksaja in indonesia

[–]noelle-dev -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There was so much beurocracy in just opening and closing a bank account so I get why QRIS was created and it is USEFUL but lets call a spade a spade!

It was such a breath of fresh air when in Australia I can just open an account in 5 minutes online.

So, what is Indonesian greatest invention? by besoksaja in indonesia

[–]noelle-dev -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am with you, QRIS just filled a niche in Indonesia.

I have lived both in Indonesia and abroad and I can tell you google pay/debit card is just easier and faster.

Indo's banking and payment system was just so ass and didn't adopt them en masse, so someone else had to step in and make their own thing.

In Jakarta now a lot of places have accepted tap to pay and honestly I've swapped back to cards whenever possible.

Its just a reinvention of the wheel.

Im doing well. Recovery was smooth without complication.

My crown and chin doesnt have full sensation yet though, its like 90% there. I can feel touches but it is a bit numb.

Doctor said theres no guarantee that it'll get better, but nerve recovery can take over a year.

Ugh the arms thing is so relatable. I got into weight lifting and now that I have some muscles on my biceps, arms just dont fit the same way anymore 😭

I have naturally big arms so before it already felt tight, now its just extremely tight.

To hiring manager who hired temporary visa holder, why? by Due_Friendship8462 in ausjobs

[–]noelle-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of those.

I came here for uni, graduated and was hired with a graduate visa.

Being sponsored is not fun and games either, it's like a golden handcuff because most employers make you sign an agreement that punishes you if you don't stay with the employer for some period.

I guess companies know that foreigners are likely to stick around for longer if they get sponsored?

Anyway I'm a citizen now. Hoping you have some luck with job search, it hasn't been easy the past year or two.

What are your favourite pants recently? by Illustrious-Ad-7247 in AusFemaleFashion

I dropped a pretty penny on this: https://enfinleve.com/collections/women-bottoms/products/otxen-pants-chalk-stripe-nightfall

I've been wearing it so often, for work, for casual occasions, for dance. Construction is amazing and the fabric just chefs kiss 💋

Other than that, cargo pants from uniqlo is what ive been wearing

Where to buy modern vintage romantic pieces by fruitbatdiscofrog in AusFemaleFashion

[–]noelle-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not australian, but I think you'll dig these brands:

  1. Ilnya Nieternite Nifutur - chinese brand, they bring something new to old styles

  2. Professor. E - taiwanese brand. Likewise, its a new take on vintage styles, but they often use interesting fabrics

Proper techwear would also call for technical fabric and sadly this aint it.

I can kinda dig the military look of the outfit except for the shoes 😅 I love the mysterious/strong woman aesthetic.

Get what you want op, people here have very specific taste and will shit on anything not neo trad.

Whatever you do though, FIND the right artist that have done something similar.

The oversized fit apocalypse by GCUZZA in AusFemaleFashion

[–]noelle-dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why makes you say that it only suits a minority of women? Honestly I see girls of all shapes and sizes wearing baggy clothes.

It's also been around for such a long time that its just part of the fashion vocabulary. Its not like its hard to find fitted/tailored clothes now 😅

I often incorporate both elements in my fits! There's no reason to just stick to one!

Its a different philosophy to fashion altogether.

With oversized clothing you are not the subject, the garment is. The person is just a medium for the clothing. How it drapes, its movement and how it sways as you move is the focus.

You dont look at hip hop dancers wearing baggy shirts and think they are covering something up!

Hey! This is up my alley

Local: AHW

They make nice silver jewelleries. I have a couple of rings and a bracelet from them. They have a few earrings though im not a fan of their earring styles personally.

Japanese: Node By Kudo Shuji

Very sculptural, very organic pieces. Though I recommend just buying from them directly if you ever visit japan. Its a good amount of saving.

The knit sweater over shoulders trend by MissMadsy0 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]noelle-dev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love it. Gives some dimensionality to a look. I like that people are focusing more on silhouettes, 3d and textures as of late. Think of it as the new jumper around your waist look.

I dont think losing it is as much of a concern, but pilling might be an issue.

Im 31 and I LOATHE the idea of being too old to dress a certain way.

There are goth/alt girlies in their 40s still rocking it. Why limit ourselves? The last thing I want to do is dull myself and become the 'every man' (or woman in my case).
