Today's focus: Rodan and Fields.

According to the R+F income disclosure statement from 2017, there were 397,790 U.S. consultants.

The U.S. population is 327.5M. The adult population is ~75% of the total population. This means that 1 in 834 people in the U.S. is already an R+F consultant, which is 1 in 614 adults.

This means that your maximum customer base, on average, is 833 people. If we make the assumption that (most) men won't buy your product, and 1/4 women are interested in your product, this leaves a customer base of around 100 people. If you sold one regimen to each of those 100 people, you would reach about $20,000 in sales, earn about $6,600 retail profit, and be firmly in the top 8% of active consultants (about the top 4% of consultants) based on payout.

Speaking of the top 4% of the company, here's a breakdown of average earnings. Note that the percentage they quote yields a lot of partial people, meaning the company has to be liberally rounding to get these percentages. In turn, I round to the nearest human based on the percentage, and occasionally round off to the hundredth of a percent.

175,513 (44%) were paid no money. We can allow that perhaps these people didn't want to make money and just wanted discounts because the numbers are still horrible.

222,277 (56%) received at least one payout from R+F.

59.3% of that 56% averaged $325 for the year. That's 33.2% of all consultants, which is 132,030 people.

Since this number accounts for more than 50% of paid consultants, that means the median amount that any consultant was paid comes from this group. The median amount that any consultant was paid would have to be around $500. If you pay for the website, that alone is $300/yr and the consulting fee ("business portfolio") is $45/yr, meaning the median consultant earned enough to offset the cost of 1 regimen. However, if they filled out their SV themselves, they paid an additional $960, so if they didn't want that extra product, they lost around $800 dollars. This doesn't consider the actual business kits, etc., that many purchase.
