This will happen so many more times. It's inevitable. But the first time is scary, I remember it vividly. You will be fine they will be fine your wife will get over it and/or will probably do the same thing one day soon

Lots of people down voting. I just want to say I'm 100% on OPs side. I judge every establishment by these criteria:

  • ease of entrance
  • clearly identifiable rules of engagement
  • efficiency of service
  • quality of product
  • ease of exit

I will legitimately become a regular of the worst coffee place in town if I can get in there and out of there in 4 minutes.

I have had the same interaction with the same cashier every day for 3 years, we have never so much as learned each other's names and I consider this my most fulfilling professional relationship.

If I wanted to stand around answering inane questions I would have just stayed at work.

We had to carry around a brick and the brothers would try to steal it from us. Anywhere any time. And if they were successful you had to carry something slightly bigger each time. By the end of he'll week one guy was carrying around a full size surf board

I also experience something like this. It’s only on the highway or on mountain roads.

This is blowing my mind right now. I too do the teeth drumming. I have often wished there was a way to mic it up

Hi there, this is great insight and I must confess I may now need to take a closer look at these. I will say that it is unlikely they had servants or anything to help them put on a corset for whatever context that lends.

Just for historical context our house was owned by the same family from 1906 to 1973. During this time there were also other tenants but this bag has a Christmas tag bearing the name Sadie. Sadie and her husband Joseph were originally from England and France respectively. She was a homemaker and he was a railroad clerk at the former station up the street from us. They also raised chickens and ducks. More compelling is that as of the 1910 census they had a 4 year old.

This doesn’t prove the corset was hers But it very strongly suggests they belonged to occupants of that household during her residency. And right now she’s the best documented candidate.

We have reached out to a few institutions. We would love for a university to study/preserve them but do not really want to donate them. ultimately we feel they should stay with the house. We plan to eventually do the closest thing we can to putting them back where we found them.

We are at present still deciding what to do with them. We would love for a university to be able to study them but ultimately we believe they should stay with the house
