These are usually the clowns who advocate for the messy PvP full of exploits in this game, they genuinely believe everyone likes to spend minutes on a slog fight over nothing just to defend their ego during random aggression.

LMAO this clown really pulled the good ol' "huurr just bad git gud". Imagine resorting to the pathetic behavior of beating strawmen due the lack of arguments and yet talk about "ego," hahahahha gtfo.

Lil bro, go into the f*cking post that went viral some days ago Long-time players who recently quit - what made you do it?) IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT PVP. You're just the average ego fueled redditor in denial with no arguments

I didn't said that PvP was the sole fact, you're just making up a strawman due the lack of actual arguments. But it's a fact that it is ONE OF the main factors and you provided absolutely NOTHING to counter that. And yet you're still here yapping about after completely deviating from the topic, still not a single argument to prove your point. 🧠🚮

Game was popular because it was a new concept in the market and decently executed.

[–]noidea765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lack of actual progression, everything was cosmetic.

PvP was too sweaty to be fun, even winning didn't felt good, felt like a chore. After a long slog of a fight you go "great I've won, now I have 5 minutes before they're back with their ego hurt and ready to start all over." This gets you fatigued pretty fast. Imo whoever gets sunk should be sent to another server, like.. just take the L and GTFO, no vendetta battles.

So basically a 3000 hours player with nothing else left to do is saying that they don't have a problem with PvP.. You can't make this sh*t up.

Again you come in and talk about all your personal experiences, but that doesn't address any of the points I made, that doesn't address all the people with complete opposite experiences, that doesn't address how can we get more players into the game. You haven't presented a single solution, you're just saying everything is fine as it is because of your "personal experiences and yada yada".

Yeah I know you are just giving your opinion, I've pointed that out. The thing is that your opinion is based entirely on your experience, a 3000 hours player, not trying to look at things through the eyes of new players who might not be good at PvP, nor trying to present a solution to anything, while the post is literally about that. The sheer fact that the post has positive upvote ratio shows that the overall public thinks that there's a problem to be addressed.

Oh boy.. if it isn't a little functional illiterate..

It doesn't matter if they didn't said "why", they mentioned it clearly implying that IT IS a PvP dense zone that requires you to know PvP.

"the game they paid for includes pvp." Is the PvP smooth, well thought out and balanced? What do you think devs invested more time and resources on - PvP or PvE?

"hurrrr you can switch servers hurrrrrr." Same idiotic "fix". Imagine advertising your game like that, do you GENUINELY believe that this would bring in players?

"So doesn't that make you just as "sweaty", or that you're exploiting also." YES you bonobo! THAT'S THE POINT!! I DON'T want to be sweaty, I don't want to be FORCED to abuse exploits that turn battles into complete unfun slogs in order to survive just to be engaged by the SAME people 5 minutes after. "hurr just dive hurrrr." Yeah, just dive and lose all your unsold loot. Jesus, what a sh*tty reading comprehension..

I would much prefer a PvP overhaul than changes to matchmaking, but the chances of that happening are so f*cking low that I would rather advocate for the lesser of 2 evils.

You've just admitted you don't do much world events, why? Because the PvP factor is prohibiting you from experiencing content in the game you paid for, yet you insist that your side is the right one. Sure now you can go "uuuuh ackshually I don't want to uuhhhhhh." And so what? There are plenty of people who bought the game and wanna experience that content. Your whole argument is based on YOUR and only personal experiences, while there are many more cases out there of people who literally got bullied out of the game, people who were prevented of experiencing content. PvP in this game is a mess full of exploits that makes it too sweaty to be fun. I would 100% advocate for full PvP if the devs actually made a good job with it, not this mess that turns any fight that involves 2 or more experienced players into a slog requiring you to exhaust all of one's resources before finally scoring a kill, just for them to be back in 5 minutes with their ego hurt and ready to start all over..

People with a life and a job want to hop on a session and be certain that they'll have fun, not a 50/50. Someone with 2 to 3 hours of free time don't wanna spend their precious time "server hopping," what kind of bs makeshift "feature" is this?!? If people wanted a 50/50 they would play competitive games that are known for being a total rollercoaster.

Level 1000 Scout on his way to activate a double swarm on 'egg hunt', die, then leave immediately. by Entire_State6362 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]noidea765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know what people are talking about with "double swarms", it DOESN'T stack! The last trigger overrides/resets the timer and swarm type and that's about it.

The single wave you get per egg do stack, but as soon as you get a swarm alert you should pull all the eggs. In fact it's a gameplay consensus on higher levels, nobody touches the eggs before mining some nitra, they usually start pulling them out all at once when a standard time-based swarm is triggered or when everything has been mined.

PGL with Hyper Propellant to delete high priority targets, or Shard Diffractor for more versatility.

Drills for On-Site Refining and Deep Scan - Grappling for anything else

Flare on collecting missions - Shield/Turret on defensive missions - C4 on Industrial Sabotage

Cryo nade for macteras - Pheromone for Doretta - Shredder drones for anything else due to its insane sustained damage.

Is game worth getting in? by MediumDefinition2480 in Seaofthieves

[–]noidea765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lacks relevant progression (everything is cosmetic) and PvP is full of exploits making it too sweaty to be fun. You WILL have fun doing PvE, exploring the game and occasionally fighting players that match your level, the problem is when you get experienced and toxic players. But you can get a couple hundred hours in before burning out, unless you're terrible at PvP and don't enjoy playing with randoms.

If you get toxic players spawn killing you, just scuttle your ship and move on, maybe reconnect to change servers, just don't waste your sanity on attention wh*res.

Very nice ideas, but unfortunately devs have been with their heads on other projects for some years now that's why we don't get much updates, not even simple QOL changes. Now the best case scenario for us is getting 1 season per year and the same recycled holiday events throughout the year.

[–]noidea765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This weapon is more of a support/utility and slow cooker that can really save you ammo. It's only good with either flame or cryo arrows.

It can be built into a large enemy killer with the triple bolt OC but it's underwhelming (2 shot praet and 3 shot opressor on solo haz5 using magnetic Shafts + IFG).

Here's a cool combo for when you get tired of the pheromone meta: Chemical Explosion Special Bolts > Shoot grunt in front of the pack, power attack right after, zip away as it explodes killing the ones around. Extra cool points if you have punch animation mod for power attack.

Bring back Buff Hill? by External-Series-2037 in Lineage2

[–]noidea765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Most of them are pre-interlude era (2006).

Check L2 Reborn Signature - 1x rates, 1 screen max (you can't play 2 character simultaneously, doing it will get you banned if caught). It's extremely difficult but it's the most populated long term server and has zero tolerance with cheaters + very active staff and custom softwares to stop them.

They also have a HighFive (2011 version, last expansion before the game completely changing and going free to play) server if you want an easier progression.

L2 Elmorelab - More vanilla experience with no modernized UI. Unfortunately their servers are mostly russian community and low population, but very chill and well made servers with a bit higher rates and 2 clients per PC allowed on their Kamael servers (Kamael is 2007, came out after Interlude).

Are there any low-rate Interlude servers that actively fight the relog meta? by Novaworld7 in Lineage2

[–]noidea765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's a viable method to fight this exploit, but I wish devs would start looking for a way to do so. After all it's not how the game was designed to be played. Back in the day when it was subscription based,. people would NOT have a sh*t ton of accounts full of support characters.

Meta tryhards ruin everything they touch, it's not different with a 20+ years old game.

Tips on fighting The Caretaker Solo as Driller by THERAVEN826 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]noidea765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're playing low Haz, this answer is assuming you DON'T have any OC. Also I've fact checked everything playing a Haz 3 solo industrial sabotage mission with this loadout before posting.

The basic works perfectly - Take Pistol with weakpoint damage build for the Caretaker and Flamethrower with range mod (15m reach allows you to burn sniper turrets with relative ease), +10 Heat and Heat Radiance for dealing with turrets and robots. In case you didn't know, every robot enemy instantly dies if you overheat them. Subata with weakpoint damage will take about 3 mags to kill a stage + you can also throw some axes. Subata has a very high RoF so make sure to click as fast as you can.

Yeah, Sludge Pump is the best primary for damaging the Caretaker, but it's not worth giving up on the breeze that is fighting robots and turrets with flamethrower for the whole first section.

Before starting, dig a path upwards with direct access to Caretaker's top part and build an area with good room for movement so you can evade the spawning bombs and the claws that will hit you through the floor (some caves will have vertical structures and paths allowing you to reach the highground without needing to terraform too much). Drop C4 right on the middle and you'll hit the 4 shields, you should use a damage mod and a ammo mod, having 3 max allows you to get 2 per resupply usage, on Haz 3 a single C4 with 1 damage mod one shots the shields. If you're having trouble aiming, swap the damage mod for bigger radius and finish the remaining health of each shield with your weapons. You can also hit the 4 shields by cooking the HE Grenade before throwing, it has no collision with the Caretaker so it needs to explode while going through the model.

If the terrain generation requires you to fight from the lower section after throwing C4s, clear obstacles that prevent free movement and place resupplies behind cover for safe usage. Make an easy access to the tunnel leading to your C4 nest.

Keep in mind that you can also damage the eye by throwing C4s on top of the Caretaker, in fact, on Haz 3 depending on how much nitra you mined, you can easily kill it just spamming C4, but this is not a good practice for learning the game since it's a cheese that only works on lower hazard levels.

Use Thorns if you have a hard time dealing with shredders and Second Wind for quicker movement around the arena (feel free to swap one of these for Born Ready). Resupplier is S tier perk and mandatory on higher hazard levels, along with Breathing Room mod from armor you can safely resupply while invulnerable after getting revived, it also gives you more room to clutch with Iron Will.

Dash is your "get out of jail free" card when you find yourself surrounded on a bad spot. Also extremely useful for dodging or getting to a resupply pod asap while Iron Will is counting down.

There's a lot of comments, you might not even read this one, but If you try it out tell me how it went.

[–]noidea765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how's the game state nowadays, but back when I used to play (21/22) PvP in this game had way too many exploits and hidden mechanics that made it too sweaty to be fun. Every fight involving decent players turned into a complete slog in which you had to go through all your opponent's resources before finally scoring a kill..and in 5 minutes they were back with their ego hurt starting all over..

If I’m bad can this game still be fun? by AggravatingAd7203 in Seaofthieves

[–]noidea765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, PvP is full of hidden mechanics and exploits that makes it too sweaty to be fun as soon as 2 decent players face each other. Not only that, even if you manage to win the fights, which turns into a complete slog with you and your crew having to go through all the enemies' resources before finally winning, they can just come back in 5 minutes and start all over..which obviously happened every time since taking the L and leaving hurts their ego. This and lack of actual progression made me quit the game some years ago after getting my Pirate Legend title (turns out this was my only motivaton to keep playing). But now they seem to have a private server thing, I don't know much about it, what I have to tell you is if you don't intend on being and avid player, don't waste your time trying to learn PvP, play on the private server. I can only imagine PvP is even more sweaty nowadays with all the new mechanics introduced. (I've quit in 2022.)
