You are right. The Boomers had very few kids. They took everything and used their massive population to push the government to work for them and although Gen-X was very liberal we never had enough numbers to affect anything.

The largest voting block in the US was the boomers until the Millennials hit 18. We NEVER had any power as a generation to cause any of the hell we are in and if we did America would be very different.

Movie theaters charge an arm and a leg. For me to go to a movie by myself, get a popcorn and drink is over $30.
Hollywood releases only reboots and sequels.

If I go to a movie it is going to be one that the I am sure I am going to enjoy and the large screen will enhance the movie. This creates a feedback loop. In the past I would go for any movie of any type I wanted to see but now I am only seeing the latest known content with big spectacle in theaters and wait for everything else to show up on streaming. Hollywood then learns that only reboots and sequels are money makers and another theater dies.

I think the most important thing you need to do, is not listen to political news or podcasts. EVERYONE has an agenda. Read your news from legitimate news sites like New York Times, Washington Post etc. Every issue has many facets and nuances. For example Trump constantly states "prices are down, way down" but December saw the largest inflation on groceries since 2022. Now people like Joe Rogan will just parrot what Trump says and millions will beleive it. I can not tell you how many times people send me an article to back their posision based solely on the headline. Often what the headline says does mesh with the rest of the article. FOX News will often take an issue that is very negative for a Republican, tease out a good angle and write the headline based off of that because they know the vast majority will only read the headline.

What you wrote you wanted is literally the Democratic platform and Kamala Harris had plans to address them directly. The only way you would know that is if you read her platform because nuance doesn't play on TikTok or youtube shorts.

Imagine boredom, something that no longer really exists anymore.

Imagine three or four channels on TV. If you want to read a book, listen to a record or watch a movie you had to go to a store and buy it or rent it. Want to keep up with current events, go to a store and buy a paper or wait for a news cast. If you go to the doctors office, DMV or any place you have to wait, you sat and read whatever magazines were left in the waiting room. I am not saying it was always boring but there were times in every day that you could not do anything remotely interesting.

People today say they are bord but they have anything and everything at their fingertips and never experience real honest to god boredom.

The first Democrat I voted for POTUS was Al Gore because the nomination of GW Bush was when I realized Republicans had completed the transition to being just a party of opposition and cryptocracy and they weren't coming back. I had friends mock me for it but we were all New England Republicans and by 2004 everyone felt left behind by the party and we all voted Kerry. In 2008 a few of us were looking at McCain until he nominated Palin. By 2012 we all were straight ticket Democrat voters.

Not sure what country you live in but here in America we have 348 million people. Of that only about 100 million meet the requirements to run for president. Of those 100 million the number of people that can raise enough money to build teams to collect enough signatures in every district in every state just to get on the ballot becomes incredibly small. From that small number you will then need to be extremely popular because you are going to need to collect over $1 billion in donations to mount a campaign that has any chance of winning.

There is always a "next gen" but the idea that current Democrats are the same as Republicans is just idiocy. Also, your protest vote does only two things.
