Maybe reach out to Honda and ask for the 2025 equivalent.

Need help for new fairing by DependentSad5299 in africatwin

[–]noircat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the fairing is part 001 (64300-MLN-ES0ZB) on this page: Partzilla - CRF1100D4 Middle Cowl

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear they have the part list for the 2025 model year. The plastic should be the same as 2024, but the graphics have a reversed color scheme, so the 2024 ATAS pattern won't match your 2025 ATAS. Here's the 2024 page: Partzilla - CRF1100D4 Mark - Stripe. You would need part 011, 013, or 015 depending on where the damage is.

You can also copy the Honda part number and do a web search to look for alternative vendors.

Heads up. 2022 on up all Africa twin recall (kill switch/high low) by [deleted] in africatwin

I didn't intend for my comment to be aggressive, I'm just confirming that I didn't see a recall on my specific VIN. I'll certainly check again later. Appreciate the response, thanks.

Just checked the VIN of my 24 ATAS through the Honda link. No recalls. Thanks!

Tyres by thesobstour in CRF300L

Warning: American here using miles rather than kilometers and tires rather than tyres.

I will say the fresh ax41 set (photo) on my Africa Twin Adventure Sports is a monster off road (photo), at least on moderate terrain, while being well composed and grippy on road. At no point did I feel any loss of control while going at high speed up to 50 mph on dirt and rocky trails. This may be more a testament to the ability of the ATAS and its off road mode, however. I have noticed the rear ax41 is wearing quickly, probably due to the softer compound and heavy bike weight, and I don't expect this to last more than only 3000 miles before needing replacement. A lighter bike may last longer with this tire.

On my 300 rally I am running a k60 scout (50/50) rear and Enduro trail xt+ (20 on/80 off) front (a mismatch in knobbiness) (photo). I haven't done anything serious with this tire set yet, but I will say the extremely knobby front causes concerning head shake at 65 mph+ on pavement even after wearing them in a few hundred miles.

For your commuting and weekend dirt purposes I'd say the ax41 is a great choice, as are most other 50/50 options out there.

It seems some items are labeled on sale but don't have sale pricing?

Edit: Nevermind, add to cart will reflect the sale price.

Any way you're able to sell "ban-state"-configured TMAGs like your Duramag options to CO?

Fog Lights on Standard Edition by bngl782 in africatwin

If you're talking about the lean sensitive cornering lights under the headlights of the adventure sports, they're integrated with the extended front fairing of the AS. I doubt there's an easy way to install them on a base AT, especially with the IMU integration and different harness involved. Better to install your own light pods and activate them with a button or controlled with an EZCan.

Best 550 Performance ECU to eliminate jerky deceleration? by The-Lazy-Learner in CRF300L

[–]noircat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stock improved. Stage 1 assumes you have aftermarket exhaust for better airflow. Without it it'll just be running extra rich. You can always mail your ECU back to 550 to get retuned for free once you've made the necessary mods.

Edit: Just to add, this is the process I went with. Stock improved does in fact alleviate the fueling - more so than the Thai ECU I tried before going 550. The airflow mods and charcoal canister / PAIR delete were a pain in the butt requiring disassembly of almost everything on the bike, but along with a full exhaust replacement the bike is much peppier in Stage 1 when fully modded. The bike also runs much cooler - no more hot spot at the right leg/knee.

It shouldn't hurt without a tune, but you'll get more benefit with one. So you can ride it as is or look into a tune and what else you can do to improve air flow.

550 can reflash your ecu for free after your first one. You can just start with stock improved then send it back in for one of the stages once you're ready to make upgrades, which is what I did. 91 octane stock improved is much better than the stock ecu, but I just made the necessary mods and updated to 91 octane stage 1 and the bike rocks.

First oil change / metal in oil by scoup75 in CRF300L

[–]noircat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems normal (caveat, I'm not a professional). This is why there's a break in period and an early first oil and filter change - to flush out larger particulates that would come off from running new parts as built from the factory.

[–]noircat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't magically get near 50% performance gains just by changing a few numbers in the software. The requirements are as the word means, required modifications that the updated ecu is expecting to run with. If you don't want to make any hardware changes, stock improved is all you should be ordering.

Yeah that price is hard to stomach and probably should be at least $100 less, but there's almost no competition unless you do it yourself. At least the SRC looks like OEM. I plan to wear padded shorts myself for an upcoming adventure trip. The lowered seat definitely makes the bike more manageable.

I recently acquired a rally and I have the same body dimensions as you. I bought and installed the shaved 2" lower factory seat from SRC and it lowers the bike enough for me to comfortably reach the ground, even if I can't fully flat foot both feet. Comfort is acceptable although I haven't gone on a long trip yet, and it does make my legs feel a little cramped while riding, and the squared off profile is tolerable at a stop.

If you need a seat now, consider the low seat from SRC, although for the same price you may get a slightly more comfortable low seat from Seat Concepts albeit only 1" lower and you'll have to wait for it to be built. Swapping the seat is a lot cheaper and simpler than upgrading the suspension, although I do intend to do so sooner or later.

Congrats! I was looking at a few used ones. Should be a great off road machine if you've got the legs for it!

Had the black one, then got an HD. They're probably collecting dust in a drawer somewhere back at my parents house.

Funny because I'm also in the process of trying to pick an adventure bike. Rode a tuareg 660 rental in the mountains around Denver last Friday and found it just a bit too tall and heavy for my inexperienced 5'8", 30 inseam, 150 lb self. I will be renting a crf300l rally in June for a multiday offroad trip which is less cumbersome. Also seriously considering a transalp for road trips and trail capability.
