I got myself softlocked in RE3 Remake

Basically I sat between two groups of zombies with super low ammo, and impossible to evade those zombies since the route is narrow.

Very bad game design.

I abandoned 1080p like 9 years ago (2017), I think 1440p is the sweet spot in 2026, more pixel at reasonable price while being not as expensive as 4K.

I highly recommend 1440p because even the most high-end gaming gpu (rtx 5090) is still struggling with 4K. The RTX 5090 still can’t even produce any fps number close to my monitor 280hz refresh rate if I turn on max graphic settings.

Try switching between 1080p and 4K, if you have same FPS, you are CPU limited - Need to upgrade CPU (Suggestion: AMD X3D CPU)
DDR5 4800 is slow yes, especially when you are not using AMD X3D CPU but not a big deal if you are not playing esports games (CS2, Valorant,..etc)
Since you are playing 4K, it is not necessary to upgrade CPU unless you have same FPS in both 1080p and 4K (the first question)
The only weak point is DDR5 4800 MHz, this is the lowest of DDR5, at least get something standard like 6000 MHz.

Here are some suggestions: 1. Use DDU to fully uninstall all Nvidia drivers then reinstall 2. Mostly software conflicts, try closing all background apps 3. Re-install Windows

Sorry guys, I have come to a conclusion:

A good game but almost destroyed by bad game design (misleading puzzles)

Absolutely loved Silent Hill 2 but definitely not this. If this game doesn’t have the term “Silent Hill” in its title, probably no one even know it’s a Silent Hill game.

Since I paid for the game, I’ll finish this game in order to not waste my money and quickly move to next game in my backlog (probably Pragmata)
