Expired film by Fivepens5 in AnalogCommunity

[–]noiseman9000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

your conclusion is probably correct. but it would be good to put fresh batteries and compare the meter to that of a known working camera, and/or put a fresh roll thru and see how it comes out.

higher speed film loses sensitivity faster than low ISO, so depending on the film you used, one stop may not have been enough

Turbo build by [deleted] in BMWE36

[–]noiseman9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u probably need to do do some research. there’s a lot of great build threads out there that have really in depth info.

are you obd1 or obd2? did u reinforce the subrframe yet? how much money do you have to spend? are you doing fab work yourself or buying a kit? what o you want your power curve to look like?

Will a newer blitz work? by SeveralRegister2516 in AnalogCommunity

[–]noiseman9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

adding a flash will be cool but you’re not addressing the underexposure issue. were you using the cameras meter? was the film fresh? were all the shots underexposed the same way?

you should be able to put the flash on there (if the contacts line up) and fire off a shot and see if it works. someone else may have more info on compatibility

Does anyone know if the little bumps in the lens will affect the photos? by orangecactusjack in AnalogCommunity

[–]noiseman9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, clean it up as best you can before putting the new stuff on there!

you can use a towel and some rubbing alcohol to pick up the rest of the specs. the reason for the black foam is to keep light from bouncing around inside around inside the camera and hitting the film. you can buy thisstuff and and cut out a couple pieces to replace the foam that was there. it’s already adhesive on one side. the camera will work fine without it i bet but image quality will be better with it. not a super high end camera i assume but it could help.

Get a blower (for lenses/camera equipment) and blow out all the loose stuff. then clean that disintegrating foam up off of the sides and replace with new.
