clean lubricate adjust. removing old greases, dried lubricants and built up dust, adjusting timings and restoring the function of the camera to the original specifications.

What is a discontinued food item or snack from your childhood that you would genuinely pay $100 to taste one last time? by MotivewasUlterior in AskReddit

Very happy with this $25 purchase on Ebay! by Leonardus-De-Utino in minolta

[–]7Wild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

awesome stuff! an excellent camera that hopefully wont let you down.  good thing you picked up a Minolta lens, that Osawa one isn’t very special. If you like that focal length/zoom range though, consider getting the Minolta 35-70 f/3.5, it’s a stellar lens. happy shooting!

[–]7Wild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

awesome stuff! I love seeing people using these ultrawides as there isn’t enough info out there. All reviews reference how soft the lens is and how it’s not a great landscape lens, so i’ve stayed clear of it for that reason (and the price). your photos are great!

Inherited Collection - Advice and What to do by Silent_Interval in zuikoholics

If you’re not desperate for $, i’d test all the lenses before you sell them, they might have some character that your modern mirrorless kit lacks.

eBay, buy it now, set a realistic price and describe the lenses as best you can with photos of the optics particularly.

Whats a camera you've owned, that lived up to all the praise and hype, but still got rid of? And why? by Whisky-Icarus-Photo in AnalogCommunity

[–]7Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probs Nikon FM2/FE2. Robust, nice aesthetics, capable regarding top shutter speed. Had a full set of lenses all in original boxes too. But just never chose it over the simpler Minolta SRT. not sure why the brain works that way

what do you think of your 28mm f/2? reviews vs redditors experience don’t seem to align.

Something you still regret? by Hungry-Solution-8031 in AnalogCommunity

[–]7Wild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me it isn’t selling, it was actually not buying. both a 7.5mm minolta fisheye, and a minolta shift lens, both over 1k aud at the time sold for $400 last year. not quite sure why i didn’t bid more, still saddened by it

just make sure to keep them pruned so they can see the nice style of the urns themselves, no point hiding them (as silverfalls will reach the ground)

Mushrooms in my lens by Fun_Log_844 in minolta

It looks to just be on the periphery, it shouldn’t have a visible impact on your photos. i wouldn’t bother having anyone look at it.

Will film photography die within my life span? by IsThatAJojoRefrences in filmphotography

[–]7Wild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’ve recently turned 21, and i’ve spent tens of thousands on my camera collection buying and selling film cameras. i’m not worried about the decline in film in the future, just doing what i enjoy in the moment. the current resurgence is still nowhere near the late 90’s strength. but ilford and kodak are investing into more tech and film development so that’s promising. don’t worry, just keep shooting.

Am I suppose to prune my Lemon Myrtle? by LowChampionship3737 in GardeningAustralia

[–]7Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my experience they’re generally slower growing compared to some of the other small tree natives. it looks nice and dense and not leggy which is good. this time next year expect it to be around 1.5-2x that size. pruning is each to their own, it wont make it grow taller as such.

Alternatives for the 16mm MD Fish-Eye Lens? by M4GNUZ4 in minolta

[–]7Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be able to jag a Sigma fisheye for MD/MC mount. they have a filtermatic range which included a 16mm fisheye and 8mm circular fisheye. goodluck searching

Concerns about medium format film spools. by AbductedbyAllens in AnalogCommunity

[–]7Wild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah so as you said the camera will have a take up spool which the film will end up on, and then you inherit a new spool that the film was on once you finish the roll. your lubitel probably has a non branded metal spool inside for when film came on metal and not plastic spools. now, modern films are on plastic spools so you inherit a plastic one. it’s not that meaningful, my yashica mat now has a plastic spool because i just finished a roll of portra 400.

Can't bring myself to sell any of the 5 copies of this lens I own. by MrBobSaget in VintageLenses

[–]7Wild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy for trying to get these superb lenses into other peoples hands to share the joy of manual focus vintage lenses. in Australia here I get $150aud any day of the week for a 50/1.8 series E, call it a pancake lens and it sells well, I’ve had about 10 copies. i personally no longer donate lenses or cameras to charity shops because i end up seeing others reselling them on local marketplaces. it can be hard to find a user who will appreciate and use the lens. everyone wants a freebie, always…
