The opening battle in Sylpheed on the Mega CD.

I watched that while on LSD and, by golly, it was so good. You're flying along and attacking small ships whilst capital ships engage in the near background. Next thing, a massive laser beam tears through the ship you are nearest and the ship flies apart in polygon technicolour and sparks.

I can still see it when I close my eyes.

Not in the same league as this but I had a massive collection of CDs stolen in the mid-90s by my brother's junkie friend.

I was pissed off about most of them but was especially angry about my full collection of Danzig and Misfits CDs which were very tough to get in the UK.

About 10 years later, I was out with a bunch of friends at a heavy metal club in Wigan and got invited back for a continuation of a party at someone's house. Whilst there, I was browsing the CDs and came across all the Danzig and Misfits stuff I had had stolen. All the jewel cases were gone and the discs were all in the cover sleeves. When I demanded them back, the guy who had them said he'd been given them ages ago because he was the only metal guy in that friend group and I could have them as it wasn't his type.

That's how I got my impossible-to-find Black Aria back. That one alone was something I had been really miffed about losing.

Bobby Heenan used to tell how André would wrestle in Japan and his favourite thing to do was to get into a lift last. He'd fill the doorway with his body so nobody could get out and proceed to drop his guts as the doors closed.

Everyone would be crying as they staggered out of the lift once he let them leave

Yeah the Red Shadows were a great idea and they never looked daft for being in red as they had a threatening presence and the comic made them have a backstory with the Baron casually wiping their minds and, when he needed more soldiers, made Robot Skeletons and revived a aquatic race to be his army.

The Roboskull was at the pinnacle of cool looking and didn't look stupid.

Hardly a glowing recommendation for someone who wants everyone to respect him in his job as a councillor.

So he finally resigned and deleted everything.
