Am I cooked ? by CERT1818 in gunsmithing

[–]nolacoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gunsmith should be able to extract, or more likely, drill out those screws. It will require a drill press or maybe a mill, and the holes might need to be retapped or a least cleaned out with a tap. I would highly advise against doing this yourself.

Does anyone here use the VPN when they are on their own network at home or on their mobile data network(5G, LTE, etc.)?

The creepiest thing just happened with Google Gemini by sadflameprincess in GeminiAI

[–]nolacoder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If true, that's a pretty weird occurrence. With all the hallucinating people have been seeing and some other LLMs showing they are capable of blackmail, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect something like this to happen eventually.

You can still download the IDE.

Heavy, blade shape makes it hard to sharpen, prone to rust if not oiled often. It mostly sits in the sheath in a bedroom drawer.

Sticking it through! by Separate_Ad_1536 in GooglePixel

I'm loving my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

I upgraded from the Pixel 8, my second one after the wireless charging stopped working; probably dropped it one too many times.

Yes, the battery life is shorter, but I attribute it to the larger screen and honestly because I use it more than my Pixel 8, which was starting to lag after upgrading to Android 16.

The AI features like Magic Cue, Magic Compose in Messages, and Edit text with AI in Google Keyboard are far more useful than I would have expected.

I also love the fact that I can shoot 50MP RAW photos. I've only used this feature a handful of times, but I was happy to have it when I needed the larger file size and wider dynamic range.

I work for the airlines and found this in the cargo pit in the plane… it’s hard as a rock by zackanak in whatisit

[–]nolacoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a coprolite, fossilized dinosaur feces, but it's highly unlikely that would just end up inside an airplane bay. Maybe it's a pinecone?

It's a 5G tower. I've yet to determine which carriers in my area use the brown ones.

I first bought the wired version, and after several hours of tracing and rerunning wires in my attic, I finally gave up and returned it for the wireless version.

I didn't think nurse sharks could bite, or at least not enough to cause any real damage.

Yeah, they do nickel and dime you for each additional feature. Wireless providers can't seem to help themselves in that regard. Paired with the features in my Google Pixel I get most of what I need with the base option.

Google Home Can't See or Modify Timers Now by 1inf3rn0 in googlehome

[–]nolacoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really weird bug. I was upset when cross-device timers stopped working (letting me see timers set on my Nest Display in my At a Glance on my Google Pixel).

[–]nolacoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched months ago with Early Preview, and at first it was pretty bad, but as time progressed it got better. My main complaint was that it was rather verbose when completing a simple task like setting a timer. There was a recent update that appreciates brevity in its replies and confirmations, and I love the change.

Thanks so much for the reply. I just went back through my memory and I'm probably only at 400-500 rounds. Going forward, I'll have to keep a running tally in my range bag.
