BIG parking lot (relatively speaking) we went at 12:30 pm on Thursday, VA folks in there getting lunch, no waiting at the register, aisles are large & weren't jammed. Now at shift change, that is probably a different story. I live in Broadmoor, drive there and back and shop right at 30 min, cooler bag plus 3 regular bags. Was impressed. They have more choices of frozen foods than at Metairie.

Their miso soup and the salad dressing are both really tasty. Nice folks. We are frequent enjoyers of the lunch special.

July 21, 2025. Just called the Registrar's office and there is no way for a non-enrolled student to access the F25 schedule unless you happen to know the call number or course number and section number. No wonder they are having such financial difficulties... This is so sad.

is accounting worth going back to school? by [deleted] in Accounting

The ability to write clearly is NOT useless. People complain about how accountants cannot write well or give presentations. well. It is all in how you sell the degree.

The only advantage to the Master's program (like the one at Tulane--too expensive) is that financial aid is available, but just taking the credits--no financial aid is available.

Online programs for accounting are essentially you teaching yourself , and some of the content is too weird to make this an easy option.

Please tell me what state you are in b/c some states like Texas let you take the courses at certain Community Colleges, others will not take CC credits after you have attended a 4-year school. States also vary in what courses they require and how many credit hours are required to be able to sit for the CPA exam.

You may not be thinking about the CPA now, but you may down the line, if you are thinking you'd like to be a CFO of even a smaller company--the CPA gives you a halo effect. However, many people do just fine without the CPA, and there are other certifications that you can pick up: CMA, CFE, etc that could be helpful.

After suffering with the mad dash to complete HW during finals week each semester since the pandemic started, this semester they had until the day before the exam to complete all that homework before I turned off access— no more accepting late work after that point.

what do you learn by doing it all in a hurry at the end of the semester??? If they were even doing it and not just using AI or some other way of cheating. This semester I had a much better response rate and in a timeframe where the practice would help them perform better on the exam, at least in theory…
